My confusion when a warhound turned into a spire was just way too high. Also I would definitely love if this were an unlockable skin sometime in the future.

Anyone saying they are no big deal probably does not play the game enough to really care about those things, but they are significant and this is definitely an annoying change. The serious players understand that Blizzard is standing in the way the beauty you are trying to achieve. This is disgusting that they would trying to impede your noble quest for the perfect game of SC2, with perfect mineral saturation. The “commons”(people who don’t understand artful play) are amusing by the robots mining, but the true artist are just saddened. I am leaving work early to check on one my friends trying to get to GM on the Korean ladder. He sent me a very dark text and I am concerned for his safety and well being. The emotional damage done will never be undone, but hopefully no lives will be lost. Using my legal expertise, I am putting together a class action law suite against Blizzard for the emotion damage caused by the change. The amount of time and effort you have lost is not worthless and you shouldn’t be made to feel that way by Blizzard and their overlord Activision. Their attempt to please and entertain the “commons” has done serious damage to your quest for artful play and you have a right to stand up for yourself. You are entitled to be made whole from the damage they have caused. You don’t need to live in fear any more. Perhaps blizzard should hire you for next year's april 1st, you could probably come up with something decently clever and witty. Considering I filled a friend’s closet, all his cloths included, with packing peanuts from floor to ceiling and walled it off with cellophane, you don’t want me involved. There is no way I would pick anything less annoying that swapping out a model for tiny robots. P.S. That is a pretty tame prank too. Anything involving a gorilla suit is way better. Why not? Peanuts or a Gorilla would have been more entertaining ... stuff like the Tauren Marine or the Terratron were cool, but after they had "the real game" they didnt have the time to "make an effort" anymore and just did a reskin.

I think it's funny and not distracting at all.

Most of companies do on April Fool cannot be seen as a prank, but just a flat out flake press release which is mildly amusing. There is a great economy to the Hound-worker prank that which I appreciate. No patch or anything to notice that something is amiss and then, BANG, mini-robots melee attacking your minerals for glory. Its like a real prank, as opposed to the other stuff which is just a fake press release.

When I saw the announcement about the Warhound being back I didn't think it was too funny, and too obvious. But when I saw them ingame ... hilarious! And so cute. GJ Blizzard! I miss them Warhound workers already.

They should give everyone rebus. Oh what fun we would have with rebus.

So they actually put the Warhound back in for the day?

It is a little bit distracting. But I can't imagine how you could lose games because of it. And since it's only for one day.... jesus! But I didn't find it funny either.

I was playing unranked late last night (or early this morning, depending on how you look at it) as a Zerg. And my first game was against a Protoss. When the game started, I saw my "workers", laughed (cackled, really), and "droned" heavily. Then I pulled my warhounds, rushed the Protoss base, and he said "IMBA IMBA IMBA" and left the game immediately.
It was glorious.
The next protoss I ran into, however, crushed me.

You're joking right? Surely he noticed his workers looked the same? O_O
