1. about 6 GB 2. Yes but I liked the general-techtree in the first coh more because it was more clearly arranged. 3. graphics are almost identical to the fist coh 4. dunno ^^ 5. want that as well...
So far, I wont get it since there is not really much improvement to the first game, plus less factions plus it is obvious you have to buy addons/DLCs for them later on.
If allowed by NDA, can anyone say: is CoH 2 more like vanilla CoH? or more like the disasterous OP Fronts? :D
I loved the vanilla CoH; tactical; use of mechanics like combined arms and cover... the expansion fucking DESTROYED that for me. If this is more like vanilla, however, I'm all over it.
CoH 2 is very much like vCoH. Russians function similar to USA and German similar to Wehrmacht and combats depend mostly on positioning and movement, exploiting cover and combining arms (though mass conscripts are very strong en masse).
Honestly I'm not entirely sure what's really all that new about this game other then snow maps (which are, at this current point) really fucking awful to play on, a watered down Doctrine system and a lot of refinements and other subtle changes. It feels different enough to be a sequel but not one I'd play for as much as I played the first one.
Still, tis a closed beta. Wonder what they'll do by release. If you never played CoH 1 and are curious I think you might enjoy this game. If you played the fucking shit out of CoH 1 then I think you might have trouble with this one.
The Doctrine system is pretty bad, but I've been having a hard time exploring this game between the awful winter maps and dead accurate mortar teams which both heavily encourage armor rushing. I still play a lot of CoH but I'm worried for CoH 2 because not much seems to have changed since the alpha stress test.
The doctrine system sucks hard compared to the old tech-tree; its just so generic and boring. The mortar and flamers were nerfed recently though which is AWESOME

Have you played this game? The graphical difference is ENORMOUS. It might not be as apparent as the difference between sc1 and 2, but it is still huge. Just play a game of coh2 and then vcoh, you will notice that vcoh looks much more static and has less overall fidelity. Also don't forget that this is a beta, thus they probably haven't implemented all graphics effects and left out ultra high resolution textures for download size.

Can add CloudMephisto. I'm not the greatest player ever, but I can stomp the AI ^_^ That video that got posted above has some good theorycraft in it that you can probably copy. Keep in mind it was prior to the flamer/mortar nerf though so when you see them melting things that doesn't happen anymore.
