But instead:"Well another esports personality, let's give them some pageviews.", then I dont quite get the point of it being on Teamliquid.
This feels more like an advertisement than a player signing. Then again maybe it's always both.

Anyways let's leave it as it is. Not like teams are going to stop posting their B or C team signings of players nobody knows, if they know the team at all. To clarify... I am swiss so I obviously know the Team.

If teams just sign big names all the discussion they get is that they don't support aspiring talents yet if a team gets someone rather unknown on their B-team or on their academy or whatever they choose to call it, they get the kind of discussion we have at our hands.

EG signs Xenocider. You could call him an aspiring talent. Yet he actually shows "some" skill. He posts results, he is a noteable signup, he is a player we can look forward to. MYI signs Queene. You could call her somebody who plays Starcraft. She doesn't really show any skill or results.
There is a difference between a PR Signing or a Signing of a Player like Heromarine or Xenocider.

I don't see how what you just posted is related to what I said.
If a team signs someone they have any right to publish that piece of information. whether they sign someone for PR or because they want to build up on that players talent (which they might see yet others don't) is entirely up to them.
The way a lot of ppl react to signings, however, is just unfair to the teams. EG has been blamed for years for their signing policy and other teams have been talked down to because of the fact they signed "some random NA GM". Let them make their decisions, they will have reasons for it. If you disagree with them, well that's your personal opinion, don't try to hide it beneath an argument that what they do is of no relevance to the community or the game. Not all players out there are of the quality of a Heromarine or Xenocider (yet) but isn't it rather inspiring to see that lesser known and developed players are given a chance by a pro team?

Don't hate on queene or myinsanity, hate the community you are part of. You are the ones chosing to comment on this. Queene is better than half of our B-team, and since we got "bigger" we've made threads about all our new recruits.
We recruited stardust around the same time and made a similar post, which got 3 pages on TL. No one gave a shit, despite being a previous kespa player who has beaten flash... twice. There was your results and talent who no one wanted to give a chance, but we picked him up. Where were you then Enema? It's interesting how many people turn up to hate and say you should support "skill", bringing threads to hundreds of posts filled with pitch black hate... While stardusts thread got a good 30 replies before he won dreamhack.
YOU are the ones making it a big deal, not QueenE or mYi. If you want it to be about only the best of the best, then go on those announcements and show your support.

Or... just decide not to hate at all!
Agree with everything else you said though /thread please, this is just going in circles and the news is old

that was not the point, but I guess explaining it to you would take far too long for the both of us

I think all the hate on QueenE based on her stream is completely unjustified.
Yes I realize for some her stream rules may seem extreme and some people might be uncomfortable with them. But the rules are not there so she has excuse to justify her actions, they're there to prevent them/stop the haters. It's illogical for people to complain about the hate you get for breaking the rules of a persons stream. It's not a perfect analogy but you'd never go into someones house and break the rules then be like yo wtf why you mad? It's an unreasonable thing to do to most people, even if this is the internet.
Now saying all that I'll be the first to admit I'm not a promoter of hate/rage and I don't believe two wrongs make a right but to go out and attack her based on her immediate reactions to it is completely unfair because realistically, we've all done the exact same thing in the past (myself included). I'm sure people will read most of this and be like herp derp thanks captain obvious and thats good, whats clearly not obvious to everyone is you now have to apply the aspergers to the situation, like the 'filtering' Queene spoke of already (She already explained it well so I don't have to) which makes what she says sometimes come off as extreme. And on top of the aspergers a lot of people don't take into account the sexism problem we have with our industry (I'm not going to directly talk about it cause thats another topic), I'm sure everyone has seen examples of it already, like just go to Queene's or any other female streamers chat and you'll see it. What I'm sure of though is how little people realize, thats just the very tip of the iceberg. The amount of shit female gamers get directly (private) from males is pretty repulsive, just ask them. So you can't blame them for being very cynical and intolerant when guys say even very mild comments regarding gender.
So yeah overall when you take everything into account I can 100% see why Queene reacts the way she does, and yes I said I'm not a promoter of rage and yes when it gets extreme I get a little uncomfortable sometimes but I think as a viewer is pretty irrelevant, if I don't like it I can just stop watching the stream.
As someone mentioned, I like the idea of how she could add she has aspergers to her stream info which is a very double edged sword, more people would of course be understand and accepting if they knew but at the same time, you're also giving more ammunition to the haters.

You realize that is the exact point of all this right? Teams get money from sponsors to advertise their brand with their image, the bigger your image, the more $$$ your worth. mYi is promoting their image with this signing and the point everyone is trying to make is 'image' isn't 100% about results achieved, theres many factors that come into play.
Post below gives a very solid answer as well.

You and other people in this thread are making all the fuss about this announcement. The announcement in itself was essential and not different from any other players'. It's normal for a team house to announce new people joining. You're implying that they're taking advantage of the fact she's a girl to advertise themselves, but in fact her skill level is similar to the other b-team players, and she got the same treatment like every other player, so eventually you're the one who is discriminating her with your arguing.

What happened to you? :D

Was watching this for some days now, if someone REALLY has a problem with this im more than open to talk about it, therefore send me a message or add me on skype, otherwise you obviously dont care.
If there is a mod around i would like him to close this thread.

Congrats to her. I hope to see her in some major tourneys soon.

I lost respect for mYi over this decision.
I went to QueenE's stream after she did a showmatch with another streamer I regularly watch. When she was talking with her chat about the build I pointed out a flaw in it as a number of other people were doing with the aim of being helpful to her. She was initially fine and spoke to me specifically to me about it and but when suddenly decided to insult me and ban me from her chat when she disagreed with me. She then moved onto insulting the player she just lost to who happened to be a Gold level student of hers then she started fighting with other people in her chat, I decided to leave and was done with that.
The thing is it did not stop there, she came into the other streams chat a few minutes later and tried to engage me in the chat there. She even went as far as to Skype the stream owner asking him to ban me and others and to tell all his viewers not to go to her Stream.
I came here after reading the recent mYi recruitment announcement made on reddit where this particular thread came up. My Insanity have decided to put there name to a player who behaves like this and as a result I wont be a fan and I'm glad to see that other members of the community feel the same and have spoken up as well.

If you have a problem with a player, it's generally best to write the management and provide some evidence. Resurrecting a dead thread is pretty pointless, and without any evidence personally I'm not going to buy that considering that while she is streaming, a lot of the time at least one person in the house will have it open and we haven't seen any evidence of such behaviour. If you have a real problem, as rMo wrote about 2 weeks ago, write the management to raise any concerns.
