maybe just cut back on that yogurt a little bit? you don't need to eliminate it completely. but the above is just my opinion and what i've felt with my body from eating various diets. 100% broscience lol.

I'll practice form a bit, then probably crank it up to 10-15 lbs lower than the weight I usually did. On the topic of bulletproof coffee I remember hearing a lot about it on the Joe Rogan podcast and one of the things that kept getting brought up was the mycotoxins that can be found in normal coffee and he talks about it more here: http://www.bulletproofexec.com/bulletproof-video-get-stable-energy-perform-better-by-avoiding-these/ I don't drink coffee in general so I can't give any experience with the stuff but most of what I've heard about it is positive.

It's currently recommending me to eat 3k calories with 210g+ of carbs 70g+ of fat, and 140g+ of protien. Is that roughly what I should be using for now? I'm 140lbs 5'9" trying to gain weight, I just don't really know what macronutrient amounts I should be aiming for. Is it eatthismuch.com by chance? And as far as the macronutrient split, just do what you prefer as long as something isn't totally eclipsing everything else (i.e. I wouldn't let anything exceed 50% of your caloric intake) the split you gave looks fine and you can adjust based upon how you feel/what you like. The big part of gaining weight is calories, and at 3k you should be just fine

It's a neat idea, I don't use it to take all the thought out of my meal prep (I'm pretty good at that kinda stuff) but I do use it occasionally for some inspiration if nothing sounds good or if I want something unique (it gives some pretty out-of-the-box ideas sometimes )

I'm having a hard time bulking :/ In case you are not trolling: "“For breakfast you need to eat four of those breakfast sandwiches from McDonalds. I don’t care which ones you get, but make sure to get four. Order four hash browns, too. Now grab two packs of mayonnaise and put them on the hash browns and then slip them into the sandwiches. Squish that shit down and eat. That’s your breakfast.” At this point I’m thinking this guy is nuts. But he’s completely serious. “For lunch you’re gonna eat Chinese food. Now I don’t want you eating that crappy stuff. You wanna get the stuff with MSG. None of that non-MSG bullshit. I don’t care what you eat but you have to sit down and eat for at least 45 minutes straight. You can’t let go of the fork. Eat until your eyes swell up and become slits and you start to look like the woman behind the counter.” “For dinner you’re gonna order an extra-large pizza with everything on it. Literally everything. If you don’t like sardines, don’t put ‘em on, but anything else that you like you have to load it on there. After you pay the delivery guy, I want you to take the pie to your coffee table, open that fucker up, and grab a bottle of oil. It can be olive oil, canola oil, whatever. Anything but motor oil. And I want you to pour that shit over the pie until half of the bottle is gone. Just soak the shit out of it.” “Now before you lay into it, I want you to sit on your couch and just stare at that fucker. I want you to understand that that pizza right there is keeping you from your goals.” This guy is in a zen-like state when he’s talking about this. “Now you’re on the clock,” he continues. “After 20 minutes your brain is going to tell you you’re full. Don’t listen to that shit. You have to try and eat as much of the pizza as you can before that 20-minute mark. Double up pieces if you have to. I’m telling you now, you’re going to get three or four pieces in and you’re gonna want to quit. You fucking can’t quit. You have to sit on that couch until every piece is done. And if you can’t finish it, don’t you ever come back to me and tell me you can’t gain weight. ‘Cause I’m gonna tell you that you don’t give a fuck about getting bigger and you don’t care how much you lift!” Dave Tate

You're going to need to bring approximately the following: 1.5 pounds of chicken, 1 whole avocado, thousand island dressing, butter, tortilla, cheese, three hamburger sliders from the bar downstairs, tater tots, wash down with whole milk and then eat cookies for desert because your roommates are fatties and always end up buying a bunch of them and bringing them home. Wake up hungry and have bacon and eggs for breakfast with orange juice milk and greek yogurt. Should put you at around around 4-5k calories before you hit the gym for lunch.

Some people like, I guess decaf, enjoy eating, we fucking love it and work out more than enough to justify it. Then in comes people like my cousins. When I had them over at my house they would hardly ever eat. One time I caught my cousin cooking a crepe (they're french), which was a thin ass slice of eggs and bullshit that was probably only 100 calories. She rolled that shit up and ate it and told me she was content... Later in the day I cooked up an omelette, looked her in the eyes real menacingly and said that she wasn't going to make it if she didn't eat this. They just don't enjoy food as much, it's just a way to make hunger go away or to please the family during meals. My other cousin eats the same way, poor guy is so damn skinny. It's like he has ever been blessed by the sweet taste of juicy beef. Makes me want to cry. Oh god. So Recognizable, as a person that's trying to bulk, try to look at food objectively and ignore your brain and eat more. I have a good friend that's in the same boat, for months he couldn't put on more muscle and lift heavier because he didn't eat enough. Honestly I was in the same boat but unknowingly so, lost weight but gained no muscle. You just gotta eat, it fucking works, that 300-500 extra calories and 50 - 70 grams of extra protein to hit the right macros work. I've seen the struggles that people have if they don't eat a lot, they just don't grow and the weight doesn't move.

There's really few foods I enjoy a lot that I want to gorge myself on so I usually hate stuffing myself until I'm about to puke if I need to gain weight. Pretty much just need to slam down the food to gain weight if you don't enjoy food as much as other people

Interesting article about whether eating a gluten-free diet is really that beneficial and necessary for people who don't actually have a gluten allergy.

However, I was considering starting to do shakes (just ordered blender on amazon). In terms of protein powder is there any particular type you guys would recommend, if at all, and where is a good place to get it? I"m just trying to cheat like crazy, I have good access to a gym and needto get back where I was before surgery (gaining like crazy, lifting 3x a week etc)

If you do some sort of work study a few hours a week (even like 4-5 hours) at $10 (usually its a bit more than that) then you pretty much can get enough money to get it in 2 weeks or so

Amazon is pretty good at getting it to you within about 1-2 days since they have warehouses everywhere even with standard shipping (3-5 days) Otherwise I'd hit up costco or other bulk stores if your friends have a membership
