"In the blue trunks... ToD!" Wouldn't it be so cool to see ToD actually sitting there in blue trunks?

I think you're missing the point. You're not making a choice at all. You don't let Naniwa make such ridiculous claims. Miniraser in a recent interview said that he understood NaNiwa and even though he ofc didn't like it he would have done the same thing in NaNiwas position if it a higher chance of him playing with a close friend instead. The fault lies with Wake accepting on Naniwas terms. He should have picked the best team and if Naniwa choosed to decline because he could not play along side anyone, then it is his choice. I reacted on you saying that NaNiwa had no right to make claims which he has. It's liek you say the people who meet it who's becoming responsible because of it. The whole reasoning between "He is the best so he can do as he pleases" is weird. Just because you are good at something doesnt give you any "rights" or justify weird demands. Of course you can make them, but the weird thing more I guess is people accepting them. You would not accept a colleague of yours asking the boss to make you quit the job just because he is a bit better, right? I bet you would find that quite "weird" even though he probably is right to ask for it with that reasoning. Your analogy does´nt make sence. Again, he did´nt ask to throw anyone out. In your example that would be your slightly better co-worker declining a job-offer, because you work there. Do you still not see the difference from before? Playing for your national team isnt an ordinary "job offer." You do not simply decline the invitation to represent your country. You can do with your life whatever you want and so does Naniwa. It's not like this tournament is the Olympics or a football world championship. And even for that you could decline an invitation if you wanted to because, you know, human rights and stuff. Ofc u have the human right to be a diva. (best expression i could find without risking to get banned) This is not an official european championship but thats the closest we have in this current state of esports. At least those nationwars aspire to start something like an european championship in starcraft. We're not there yet but if we want to get there eventually we might start by taking it seriously. Otherwise we're just always gonna say, ya well.. its not "real sports" anyway. I believe you got two duties in a free democracy. Vote and get your shit together when you represent your country. The thing that really sucks though is that NaNiwa said himself that he might never play in a Swedish National team after this drama. Ofc I dont judge anyone if they think he is wrong saying that and so on.
at least i really enjoy the drama thats unfolding on twitter :D go TLO!

How is representing ones country a duty? Why should one want to represent ones country? It´s not like patriotism is a required thing in modern society, if someone does simply not care that much, that is perfectly normal and fine.

And yet there are a lot of democracies where 50+% of people don't vote, so evidently your beliefs don't matter all that much since they are beliefs and have no value for other people. If you hate Naniwa for that that's also okay, because you have the right to do that (thankfully).
