The same thing happened in WoL. For a period muta was extremely strong. Easiest way to explain it is the meta of life. 1 - Muta gets really popular and strong. 2 - People get really good at defending against Muta and being ahead. 3 - People stop going mutas and everyone goes RvR. 4 - People randomly go muta's at times and eventually it becomes popular again. this is true. but it's also the spore buff? i mean, that definitely put muta in a place where it was a viable opener but not a game winner. kind of weird to say that "nothing changed" when there was a huge balance change specifically aimed at reducing muta play (referring to the guy you're replying to, not you)
Yea, I didn't say the spore buff cause I figured it was a given lol

I started with only some different builds, ordered like "Cheese", "Makro" and "All-In" for all 3 match-ups (I play terran). I believe its very important to have a variety in your play so you can surprise your opponent. especially because I want to start to play some tournaments. I think real good players are the ones who can win tournaments and not only get high in the Ladder (I´m only diamond but still..)
But I wonder what else I could write down in my little sc2-bible. Like specific timings, although I dont really know any...
So I appreciate any thoughts of that and maybe you have some opinions wich help me out Build variety is important in tournaments, but Day[9] himself has repeatedly said that depth beats breadth. That is, a player who knows how to play one build amazingly will (most of the time) beat another player who is just okay at a lot of builds. It's been my experience that honing one build to a gleaming polish is the most rewarding aspect of SC2. For StarCraft notes, I have a whole folder of them. - Builds are saved as printable Word documents, which I can place on my desk until I memorize a build. The words color-coded and indented for maximum readability, but find whatever system works for you. - I have a document with notes just for the Day[9] daily. Whenever I watch a daily I make an entry for it (#932 PvZ Dealing with Mutas, for example) then take down important notes as I watch the video. - I have a document for timings. Nothing fancy, whenever I load up some pro or GM replays I may take some early timings down (14 pool starts at 1:50, Hatch First starts at 2:10). The more "vague" timings I just make mental notes of. Those are the 3 basic pillars of my SC2 notes. For the beginner, I would say just have a pen and paper by your desk and jot down some timings, because knowing timings will make playing SC2 much less scary and mysterious. If you know Mutalisks cannot possibly be out before a certain time, you won't be needlessly anxious, you won't build defenses too early, you won't be afraid to move out, etc. Makes you much more comfortable and focused when playing.
Thanks for sharing some thoughts! I think I will stick to one single BO then. Maybe you´re right at this point. But I still want to learn at least a good 11/11 or something similiar so I can fool around every 5th game... Otherwise laddering gets to boring T_T
On more question: Are these timings still accurate? http://imbabuilds.com/guides/protoss-timings/ (the zerg and terran timings as well?)

Not sure if this belongs here but didn't know where else I could ask:
Why is justin browder's head floating while rotating over my main buildings? It's literally a picture of him making a weird face.

every unit except scv/drone/probe get +3 armor.
I really hate lategame with 2sec fights. Very unpleasure to watch such games.

SCV/Drone/Probe also get +3 armor with the upgrades.
What they don`t get is weapon upgrades.

I am not sure that you understand me or I wrote unclearly. I mean that units get additional +3 armor from begin, also if a ling has +3 armor upgrade then it has 6 and ultralisk has 8 armor (+chitinious plating) at end.

Why do most of the guides on TL relate to Protoss? Is it because there are more Protoss on TL, or is that just a good race for coming up with various strategies because of how different its units and builds are from the other two races?
I'm not complaining by any means. I'm a Protoss so its good for me anyways haha.

I think it is because zerg and terran are not really doing anything super different that would require a guide. Where as protoss are really playing around with different builds.

ZvT Third timing.
Can you give me a good(correct) timing for my third (and gas) vs 1rax expand into hellion/banshee? The third timing ~6:00 (of the Blade Guide) feels so early and I can't handle the pressure without major losses. (banshee at main/natural and hellions at my third)

6 minutes is fine. But if you feel too pressured just take a third at 6.30-7.00. Just insure you keep droning your main and natural so you can instantly saturate the third when it comes up.

The real reason is because there are more writers for Protoss right now in the Tl strat section. There is almost no terrans right now and i believe 0 zergs to write guides

We have like 2 non-Protoss writers lol. SORRY! We're working on more Terran/Zerg guides for the future!

Please seriously decent people who are interested in writing and play not protoss pm me. If you already make threads and have discussions then all the better.

I'm looking for a recommendation on the best map to test out units, I want to be able to check how a certain army would do in different situations test micro techniques etc. I'm a P player fwiw.

You should look for the HOTS unit tester online. It's still the best even though its kind of old now.

Are there anywhere collections of cheese build orders. I'm a zerg player and i've pretty strong macro (for diamond), but i don't know any or very few cheesy builds and i'd like to learn some. Is there any site/thread where i find for example the early 6/7/8/9/10 pool "builds" and their (dis)advantages to each other?
