Also for the uninitiated : CBenni is one o' dem speedrunning background ninjas, where you find yourself running something and wondering why it's so fucking awesome, only to learn that the answer is "Because CBenni"

I've never seen more than a dozen people in the room at a time, even though the have twice as many chairs as previous events. There is a larger viewing area in the back with a projector and whatnot. It's not on camera. Apparently attendance has never been higher.

Prime 2 was way ahead - Notch sniped Prime 1 with 2.000 - and got sniped by someone wo spend 300 for Prime 2 - at the end, the difference is 34something (or something else close)

"1%" i guess means getting the bare minimum of weaponry in the game, unlike "any%" which is do whatever to finish faster.

Most of the joke bosses become genuine threats. And the genuine threats (like Nightmare) become horrendous.

Technially "low%" would be that kind of run. For some games, the theorectical low% run isn't really feasible because it is too hard, too boring or has a trick that's almost impossible to do, so they name the "almost lowest%" run something else. Not sure if that's the case for Metroid Fusion.

Not sure if that's the case for Metroid Fusion. 1% in Fusion means avoiding every missile/e-tank upgrade except one, which requires a frame-perfect trick to avoid (aka, not actually viable in a non-TAS).

He might know speedrunning, but the level of actual micro is nonexistent. I wonder how much faster it is to complete with micro ?

Overall the run was very good for what needed to be completed. With really good micro I am sure you could get closer to a 1 hour time. He also was taking some levels extra safe for the marathon so he wouldn't have to reset (such as the very last level with making extra turtles). The very long mission could definitely have been improved but better micro isn't going to do much for the strats shown in the final 2 missions. Studio is great with his commentary as well so I would recommend checking it out.

The one missile tank that can be picked up can be skipped by shine sparking through an X barrier, but it's such an insane trick to pull off you'll never see it outside of TASes. EDIT: Trick is here.
