jeez your all talking likes shes passed on lol (touch wood)
unless something miraculous happens like she gets picked up by a dota team am sure we will see her in LoTV well maybe not if blizz buggers that game up aswell, besides them 2 reasons she will be back am sure she will miss the rush of the fans screaming her name

Hey Scarlett, good luck with Dota, but I do hope you're not OK with that being your last official Starcraft game.
|
Promise to return to us as soon as the LotV beta gets released, at least to see if you can regain your passion for SC2.

She could probably do that, too. ~_~ Honestly though, I'd rather see her in SC2 'cause it's the game I'm interested in. she can do it by end of feb, since she's very tenacious; i dont know what to root for here, dota or sc2, im fuckin hyped, its super great news anyway! She looks really determined to strike big this year in either games, which is so cool. i don't know nothin about Dota, but i recall reading that her MMR was around 5k before and that's comparable to master's in sc2...jumping up to what i assume would be like a grandmaster mmr in a month seems like quite a mountainto climb is it not? not doubting her, just wouldn't mind some clarification. well i got grandmaster my first season playing sc2; and i have played quite a bit of dota in the past so it doesnt seem unreasonable if i tryhard
Scarlett is an inspiration to tryhards everywhere!
Here's my 3.5k solo MMR advice to you: make sure that you only blame your teammates when you lose and if they really screw up, tell them to uninstall. Everyone who claims they are better than me does that to me when our team is losing, so it must be the correct decision.
Edit: messed up post, better uninstall TeamLiquid

So is Scarlett really switching to DotA for now? Man that's going to feel weird ):

Really makes me wish SC2 was a better game. It's just so damn frustrating to play, and not fun. We lose more players to SC2 being bad than anything else. This was never really a problem with Broodwar.

You can hop on any team game and have a blast doing dumb shit if you don't care about what league you're in. It can be frustrating if you are playing for a job though for sure, and even if you're someone like me who's just trying to get out of gold league. It's all persepctive, and I'm sure a lot of people got sick of and left brood war.

Also, I have to say that I hope we get a lttle bit more of an official statement from her in the near future. It feels wrong for a player who's been so important to the scene to go out ungracefully on a super half-ass effort in her probable final game of sc2 ever and one gg tweet lost in a sea of Dota and Drama tweets. A lot of people will say "she doesn't owe us that or anything" but I would kind of disagree. I wish the level of respect that we her starcraft fans give her was being returned to us in some way, it just kind of feels like we're being suddenly abandoned...

Man, why do you have to make waves again - you're being unfair to Scar.
"half-ass effort" ? What is the thought process that has lead you to take this conclusion? Did she share her training schedule with you? How do you know that, in the days before the games, she didnt put in a serious amount of training, so that she can show good games for one last time? She even offered to stream, because she cares about her fans so much - she would never say that if she wasn't sure that she can put up a good fight.
just kind of feels like we're being suddenly abandoned
easy with the plurals around here, YOU feel abandoned. not "we".

I'm all for freedom of speech, and it is pretty hard to get me annoyed because I'm pretty chill. I've gotta say though I'm pretty sick of even seeing your name show up anywhere in this Fanclub with these disgusting posts.
I think if you don't have something positive to say / contribute then you should really just shut it. Literally.
Can't a moderator just start temp-banning these people until they get a clue (if that is even possible for most of them)?

They all come back eventually. Plus it's not like all foreigners retire/switch games with an official statement. Think of Grubby, Naniwa, Sjaak, ToD, ...

I don't think SGTK is wrong. She went from "I will qualify for Blizzcon 2015" to "WCS might be my last tournament" (I can't think of a situation after that tweet where she would do anything besides WCS/retire) in two months with her only explanation being that she lost interest. And although she did a fine job during the qualifiers, honestly it didn't feel like she was playing that great during her challenger match (compare the SH games to the ones she played in the qualifiers).
Sure, there might not be a lot to say about why, but I'd like to know either way...

Sure, there might not be a lot to say about why, but I'd like to know either way... First of all, we dont know the entire picture. She might've had personal reasons, which she doesn't have to share. I'd say we keep away from judging the tweet with "last tournament", who knows what came in between that made her decide this.
Second of all, SGTK keeps playing the "disrespect" card, yet Scarlett has always been respectful to her fans. Remember that Scarlett said openly last year (and not just once) that she reads her fanclub carefully with an open heart, and genuinely cares about her fans, and wants to know them happy. This statement of hers is solidly confirmed by her post a few days ago here, where she literally asked her fans "do you want me to still play SC2 for you?" Would a disrespectful person ask that question? No, instead would just tweet "im done with sc2. bye".
Moreover, during the WCS Challenger phase she replied to SGTK's random questions here, in a very respectful way. After that, SGTK's answer was to characterize her play as "super half-assed effort". You tell me who's the disrespectful one here.

Perhaps distasteful would be a better word than disrespectful for you? It leaves a bad taste in my mouth, that's all, and I don't think that outside of her TL fanclub I'm alone in that. If you go on reddit you see how disappointed a lot of people are, and how some of them have even turned bitter and disrespectful themselves. Compare to the way they're talking about QXC who is doing a very similar thing right now, and it's obvious people don't like how she's going about it all. And while it's true that she's been pretty super to me actually, Im not an average fan and Im talking from more of a perspective of a person who's a huge fan of her but also of Starcraft. As I've said before, Scarlett in many ways was the initial reason why I got back into SC2, so to see her relitively suddenly break away and not really give us much is very disheartening. It's not like she was like Vortix and was already going to school, or like Naniwa who had been openly trashing the game for some time, like Templar pointed out she went from "im going to blizzcon next year" to retirement is a really short time. And I'm not saying that other people have left in better ways than she has, most do it worse. But the way most foreigners go out is what I'd call ungraceful, and I didn't want to see Scarlett fall into that same pattern.
And as for her performance... I would call it half-assed, and perhaps that is harsh but it's true. There's no way she was practicing leading up to that match, a practiced Scarlett would never play so poorly. She's been streaming and talking about almost exclusively Dota recently so it's pretty obvious she wasn't trying too hard for WCS. This is the part I do think is kind of disrespectful to her Sc2 fans, and maybe she did practice really hard and I'm wrong but judging by her play I think anyone can say that she didn't really care much about winning those. If you're gonna play one last tournament, at least give it your all so the fans can have one last one to remember you by. I, and I don't think Scarlett either, wants to be remembered for losing out of challenger to Astrea, who'll probably never go anywhere after this. To those of us who don't really care to watch Dota, that was her last hurrah and that's how she's gone for us.

while to I certain degree like maybe 5 degrees i can understand their argument but Scarlett has in the past week or so i feel as put in alot of effort into doing things for her fans yes i know it was dota she streamed but she still did stream and really she sounded alot happier playing dota then sc.
you also still can continue to be a fan of not just the player Scarlett but the person of Sasha and while said person might not be around alot anymore in the sport you watch and enjoy. She is doing something that brings her happiness so lets continue to cheer and root for her and not bring her down to much by what is written her fanclub.
As for how she played her last games well honestly i cant even consider the idea she didnt give her all you dont become the type of athlete she is by not giving one hundred percent every game.

a) She doesn't owe any of us anything. I don't recall her signing a contract in which it is her job to cater to the needs of her fans. She has easily been the best and most receptive player over her duration to interact and be super awesome to her fans since this fan club even started. If anything you should be grateful and give her your thanks for her contributions to the scene overall. You claim to be one of her biggest fans, yet instead of embracing her decisions now and supporting her through and through - you instead choose to be selfish. Can you honestly not read through most of your posts in recent times and not at some point think "wow... who would even have the nerve to talk like this" ? We get it - you are disappointed. A lot of people are - but the this is the reality of the situation. Support her choices like a true fan would or grow up and move on.
b) Why you continue to also bash an incredible talent like Astrea is beyond me. I know it is hard to fathom but it if you take a moment and look around the rest of the scene you might just realize there are other great players not named Scarlett. The guy is obviously proven good whether you choose to agree with it or not. Let it go already.
