The idea would be that in average it kinda average itself, so it might not justify the effort ('APM') put into it. also generally when you're about to saturate a third base is a common time when pressure from your opponent will come and often try to destroy your third or kill any workers there, as it's usually going to be the most exposed base. so pushing workers out to your furthest base is running a bit of a risk if your opponent is trying to do pressure or harassment at the same time. ever seen a protoss player in HOTS pull his entire probe line into the main when terran opens with surprise hellions? defending fewer bases is easier, and keeping workers alive is really important if your opponent is being aggressive often what you'll end up doing is choosing to build defensive army instead of saturating a third base, in which case it's a lot cleaner to just have workers at your main and natural in the event of pressure on the third or even having to sacrifice your third depending on how heavy the aggression is. and yeah you'll main out your first two bases faster, but you get the same resources either way, and you have to expand eventually no matter what you do unless it's a timing

I feel using the VR allows you to engage against the blink/disruptor army well and zealots armies are really easy to mass (re)produce. is there some obvious counter I'm missing? My opinion on this : the style is pretty easy to identify and the disruptor blink player would just have to use his gas excess to add archons and be quite fine. But air (generally phoenix) + chargelot archon immortal is something that is being tried even at the highest level.

Do the majority of higher-level players use basically the default hotkey layout, or do almost all of them modify it in some major way? I want to practice with the default + moving the location hotkeys from F1 - F5... but am open to try out things like The Core or whatever else.

Is it possible to place a Liberator so that it can hit a mineral line (meaning a single mineral field), but stalkers can't shoot it? Is there any map in the pool where that can happen?

I tested it in the unit tester and the orb retains the same color as the disruptor before being nerualed, so the control of the orb is still with the protoss
