Guardians of the Galaxy vol. 2
Hot damn! What a crazy ride that was! I haven't laughed that hard in years. <3 Drax. Awesome movie. 5 post-credit scenes! Tiny Groot! Amazing!
Seriously, go watch it now. Marvel is killing DC in the movie industry.
Edit:
I didn't even notice there was Rocket in the poster until now (which is like 5-7 days later). Hahahaha!

King Arthur: Legend of the Sword (2017)
I honestly don't know what to give this movie. There more I think about the movie, no I refuse to think about it, but during the movie, I had no choice but to like what could be liked, and let go everything else. So yes, was some really cool scenes with fitting music. The entire movie was light and with "humor", and had an irish taste to it all. Story telling I expected something LotR style (atleast a little), but instead, it all felt like a heist mission with some very cocky dudes. So for me, a very mixed bag. Part of me felt robbed, and another part of me fulfilled. At least a hell of a lot better then just another shitty Avengers movie.

Alien: Covenant
Skip if you can. If you want to watch new Alien movie, just watch Life instead. Fucking waste of time and I'll quote my friend here who summed it up perfectly: "Why even make this movie?"
Watch at your own risk (disclaimer: Prometheus was much better than this and if your hopes are beyond that please revisit them).
Edit:
Some highlights:
- plenty of characters you don't give a shit about!
- plot twist you see coming miles ahead but still can't believe they'd go through with something that dumb!
- aliens! (white and black, pick your poison)
- half of the movie serves no purpose but costs millions of dollars to make!
- other half is bullshit...
- very little suspense!
- what is this "drama" you keep talking about?
- not very scary!
- the longer you think about it, the worse it becomes!
- it looks ultra beautiful!

Guardians of the Galaxy 2 proved to be the ultimate remedy to rinse the taste of sewage out of my mouth that was Covenant from the day before. Drax has to be one of histories most perfectly casted roles. Absolutely laughed my ass off.

Gotg2 was so much fun! Drax was amazing and funny as hell. Bautista killed that role tbh. The part where Drax was sitting down, looking at the scenic view and Mantis touched him and started sobbing, omg my heart!
Highly recommended to go and see. I plan to see it at least two more times.

Fast & Furious 8: The Fate of the Furious
Warning! Spoilers ahead! (not that they matter in this kind of movie)
Even with my brain turned off (I knew what I was getting into) I felt like this movie insulted me. I won't even go into all of the ridiculous bullshit that's going on because that's to be expected. What did it for me was the fucking laziness of the screenwriters/director. There was exactly one point in the movie where I though "oh boy, this is going to be interesting". There was a lot of potential for some drama and just a bit of depth, but no. Someone probably saw it in the script and said "Holy hell! How are we going to resolve this plot line? There won't be enough time for splosions n' shit!" and some smart dude answered "Let's just kill this one character and it's smooth sailing once again. All problems solved and we got an emotional touch". Emotional my ass, the only emotion they got out of me was outrage due to wasted potential.
Also, I really can't stand this "bunch of outlaws saves the world" any more. How long can they keep it up? I'd rather they got back to the roots with some actual racing and stuff. Make it a bit more grounded in reality too (would be a nice touch). Seriously, you could have a much better and more interesting movie with half the budged and 90% less star power...
Watch only if you want to see 90 minutes of action and one scene that opens up an interesting plot line which is reversed 5 minutes later.

I ll agree with manit0u about guardians. Alien. Havent yet seen life but will see it eventually. Anyone seen pirates 5? Was about to go with a friend but after seeing the bad reviews on the internet we decided to watch king arthur. It was a fun film. A 6.5 out of 10 id say.

Just finished Wonder Woman. I'd rate it a 7/10. It didn't suck, but it wasn't as good as I thought it could've been.
Details why in spoiler. SPOILER ALERT OBVIOUSLY!
+ Show Spoiler +The final act is really what lost me. It suffered from a lot of the same problems Man of Steel and BvSM suffered from late in their movies as well. There was virtually no connection to the actual villain, and the final battle sequence was way too over the top to fit the rest of the movie. The movie's pacing and relatively solid plot development completely falls apart on itself. Like seriously we come to discover that Ares was just going to do the Emperor Palpatine JOIN THE DARK SIDE shit including fucking force lightning? Come on. Totally ruined what was otherwise an awesome display of Wonder Woman in a terrific historical setting with otherwise believable plot action and storytelling.
Ultimately it really felt like they were cramming AGAIN for Justice League and the final act was somehow supposed to be some kind of dramatic build up towards Wonder Woman's next adventure but all it did was detract and distract from the rest of the movie.

Ok, Hacksaw Ridge
On first sight, I was very reluctant "One of them "war movies" again and again"... then i read the plot: an enlisted volunteer young men who won the medal of honor without shooting a bullet? wait what? It's a true story, I have no word.
9/10
edit: DO NOT WATCH ANY TRAILER, I could not find any without major spoilers. Just don't if you are smart and curious enough.

Yeah i don't watch trailers or read about a film i want to watch. Which was double the :o when i watched Logan finally this weekend...
Holy smokes what a movie had i know idea it was that good, that moving and that extreme! Fantastic 3rd installment of the franchies, just amazing and to be fair the acting all the way through it was incredible really.
If you are a slight bit interested in Wolverine or XMen franchise you have to watch Logan, but even if you just want a solid Action movie with a story to it, this again was very good.
|
My only issue with Logan is + Show Spoiler + that the plot is basically identical to Children of Men. Good movie, but it just felt like I had seen it before while I was watching it.

Maybe spoiler that? That movie is not that old. I have not seen it yet others probably have neither.
