Cool mod. A lot of nice work has been done here and it is fun to try out.
However I have a few criticisms about the retro-ness of the units. Part of me would prefer to just play with the modern starcraft 2 stats on the units. For example the firebats could be two supply and beefy etc. Also, it is annoying that you can't sink depots or do other fun things that starcraft 2 added. Since it is pretty much impossible to reproduce the damage/armor system of the original and you are adding things like medics to the entire campaign retrofitting everything half-way does not seem worth it.
So to sum up, I think it would be more fun to play if it adapted the original campaign levels to SC2 gameplay rather than trying to frankenstein it into SC1.

I do like the difficulty, demanding you to be very cost effective with your units and you can't just go mass marines and win like in the original version. Granted, I wish there was better consistency but there's only so much you can do with the game.
Also, all range upgrades for Terran does not work at all. +1 Range for Terran gives Combat Shields instead, and Goliaths +3 Range doesn't work either. Valkyries also attack Wraiths regardless if they're cloaked or not.
Also, music turns off if you restart a mission or continue to the next mission, though this problem goes away after mission 4.

As a person who did not have the patience to sit through and look at those ugly graphics (sorry its true) this will be awesome ! I've always wanted to beat BW single player.

Thanks for posting this ! These are the SC1 vanilla missions, not the Brood War missions.

Just finished up the Z campaign as well.
Muta imba in this campaign. Massing mutas is so good, especially in the penultimate level!

as someone that has basically played NO sc1 (I played 5-6 lvls of the terran campaing when i was a I kid and thats it), I would really like this mod to have no mbs, no auto minning, and 12 units max in a group

marine range doesn't upgrade T_T besides that very well done, it's slightly harder than SC1's campaign, hard enough that it'll keep your interest but never actually put you in danger of losing

Ok i followed the directions perfectly but when i drag the map i want to play over my sc2 startup it says "unable to launch game". I cant figure out why. any ideas?

Doesn't put you in any danger of losing? That Terran mission near the end is harder than anything in SC2 except a few missions on brutal.

This is more than awesome. What the hell, Blizzard should be proud!

The difficulty spike was made in mind of the much better UI from SC2. Change it back and you should might as well be playing SC1 on Brutal.

What's StarCraft Vanilla? I've never heard of this o.O
Is "vanilla" a term used to refer to non-expansions versions? I'm a bit confused

Wow, this is great. Can't wait for more from the maker.

Been playing the Zerg campaign and other than Queens being broken all to hell and some sound effects refusing to play (hydras shooting, tanks shooting) after a load, it's been really fun.
Spine crawlers are tons stronger than sunkens, wow.

We need some walkthrough videos!

I just played the "Rebel Yell" campaign up to the installation mission. I had no idea you could do something like that with the SC2 editor! As others have said here, the SC1 sounds and unit stats with the graphics of SC2 is simply amazing. Only bug I've noticed so far is that the marine range upgrade can be researched as much as I want to, but it doesn't actually do anything. Is there any chance for an update or bug fix sometime soon?
