I think it's good this way. It'd be kinda deligitimising the tourney if TT1 advanced due to a match that shouldn't have happened. That said, I understand it sucks hard for him, but maybe you should hold back in some of your comments, as they are quite harsh.
I'm mad that my player and good friend got fucked over O_O what's hard to understand
It is easy to understand YOUR anger. But don't expect IEM organisers, DRG, fans watching etc to feel the same kind of outrage. Tournament organizers made a misstake, they corrected it, show continues shortly.
One referee made a misstake, IEM corrected it. Ofc it is regrettable, but it is not a HUGE deal tbh.

Lol, bashing a lot ? Where is it written in law that you cannot overturn results of games that were played against the rules ? Oh, yes, you do not like it because that means TT1 is likely out. Too bad, but either way they go it will be unfair to someone and there is no objective reason to argue that one way is more unfair than the other.
TT1 actually palyed games and won, that's why its more unfair to him? O_O
THE GAME NEVER MATTERED.
Is this really hard to understand?
Then why did they play it? How about we ask TT1 and Gatored if the game mattered or not?
ROFL.
Did you listen to what carmac said? They weren't supposed to play eachother so that match doesn't count at all. It means nothing to the tourny.
You didn't answer my question of why they played it. I know they weren't supposed to. But they did. Someone told them to play. Someone told them to play because whoever won will get to the semifinals.

I can understand why this happened... but really, it shouldn't have. It shouldn't have...

nothing is hard to understand, but bashing and flaming IEM isn't going to get your friend his game back... look, it wasnt a legit game - it wasnt fair to ANYONE, drg, gatored, tt1, top.... quit acting like tt1's the victim when if DRG had lost to TOP - he would be the victim as well... why wouldnt you prefer to go straight up the way things SHOULD have been? I'd hate to win a tournament with an * stating i actually didnt play the right opponents... regardless, quit flaming and acting like a kid - aren't you the guy who runs NASL? LOL. don't talk bad about iem, lol.
I'm aware of that. I'm responding like a human being, my teammate and friend won a game 3-0, he was not at all responsible for admins making mistakes, and now he has to play again.
You have no idea how tilting that is as a player.
Or you call up your teammate, congratulate him for wrecking a solid player, and remind him that he's playing well, is warm, and will be amazing against whoever he has to play next.

Why? Because referees made a fucking mistake that's why. There's no question at all how this situation should have been solved, how the hell can anyone even argue about the decission?!
I, too, applaud how the situation was handled. Im thankful for them admiting their mistake so early without trying to cover it yup but its still kinda shameful how it happened in the first place.

Given that they had screwed up, the options were: Screw over DRG and let the match stand. Breaks tournament rules. Screw over TT1 and discard the match. The tournament is played out according to the brackets.
Given that both options involve screwing somebody over, why not go with the one that ensures that the correct bracket plays out?
This is an obvious decision. I'm shocked people object to it - you can be annoyed at the ref, but not at the way it was handled.

No. If an official decision was made and they let TT1 play out his match it's done. Over. Out. You just don't say whhoos... sorry guys me made a mistake and go back to the start. That's distortion of competitive.
Simply as that.
Why? It strikes me as worse to completely mess up the bracket, while screwing over DRG, Top and that entire half of the bracket, than to only screw over TT1. Sucks for him, but it was the right decision.
This sucks, but with the two choices the admins had I think they made the right one, and postpone the game until tomorrow is probably also correct, not that TT1 wont feel tilted tomorrow, but with any luck he will be less tilted...
The funny thing is if the situation were reversed and TT1 got matched up against DRG accidently instead of an easier opponent he'd be throwing the same fit he is now if they decided to let the games of 2 other players stand and make tt1 play someone he wasn't supposed to because of a seeding error. Either way, someone gets screwed and has to play DRG, but at least they follow their own rules and the right person has to play him.

Then the tournament should live with the consequences of their mistake. Not the player.

Referee made a mistake with the groups, putting DRG behind Gatored because of internal match scores even though it is game scores that counts when match scores are equal (DRG was ahead). Thus DRG and TOP won their groups, yet they were facing eachother in the ro8, which is not fair. TT1 and Gatored faced off (even though they were both placed 2nd in groups) in ro8 and TT1 won 3-0, then carmac came in, apologized and now we are up and running with the correct brackets.
