You know, as a Korean, we actually never put down women, we love em, we adore them, we don't think negatively about them whatsoever. But that is also in the context of our society of gender roles. ^^ Pr. Dave's korean gender studies oh yeah baby. keke u know it ^^

I'd say a lot, I mean socializing outside of the business meeting, most western countries are like that; I would say if you were to drink heavily it would actually look quite negative; but when going out drinking is part of a high level business meeting- I'd say in East Asia nearly 100% (less so in Japan now though, maybe 80%-just an estimate), I mean it is a necessity. But I do want to emphasis, drinking a lot being drunk is a lot different than drinking a lot and still being able to hold a somewhat rational business discussion is a totally different thing. The later is what you're looking to do. Simply being able to drink a lot and be an asshole isn't going to take you far in any situation, business or otherwise ^^

And people with fancy coats and diamonds around their neck just walk by while the poor die and nobody gives a shit. Dunno, was really disturbing to see the difference between the rich and poor so blantly. don't be fooled: these are 95% tricks used on tourists and ppl who don't know better. There are some beggar in Vienna, but most of them belong to an organisation, especially the non austrian ones. I wouldn't believe it at first, but before I jumped into conclusions I asked them some questions in a friendly way before I gave them money the next time and none of their answers were conclusive. Sometimes you see different beggars with the same (not the same message but the same(!)) plate with a message on it. Sometimes holding a child, sometimes singing badly, sometimes selling you something. Sometimes reading your future (and they are WRONG ) Sometimes they sell a newspapermagazine called "Augustin", when they see you throw it away they get it from the waste and sell it again. As a person being handicapped since I had an accident I like those the most who claim to be injured but don't walk like their injury would make them walk. I have watched shit like that hundreds of times already, some other things I have watched: especially in the richer district the density of the beggars is tighter, and every couple of hours you see the same man going from beggar to beggar, collecting money. When the beggars "shift" is over, he often walks away like he never was injured at all and obviously happy and healthy. Also there is this one guy, I know him for years, always has the same phrase "hast du ein bisschen kleingeld für mich?" (can you spare some coins?). He is between the railway U2 and the university of vienna (main entrance). When he has collected enough money you see him phoning with his always latest iPhone (yeah, he prefers apple ) I watch this stuff since I moved here, I watch every beggar before I give them food or buy them a hot drink. In my opinion the only real beggars are actually austrian citizens, I haven't had ONE encounter with a non-austrian beggar that didn't make me suspicious about the truth of their motives... This all comes from some eastern (rumanian, bulgarian) or southern (italian) mafia, so you should only support those who look like "legit beggars" to you. I thought "slumdog millionaire" was a good movie with that as a sidetopic. Also a good read about beggars Philippines has a similar issue of syndicates using a beggar system as a front. But that's pretty sad too, as you have new born babies being carried around all night long by women begging as if it were their child...life is hard..
