Can´t wait for friday and may the best teams win! And by the way, the only chance to have a repeat of a final is Brazil vs Sweden. Any other combination would be new, which is pretty cool.

Anyway, I'll cheer for that repeat! Teams I like best on either side of the bracket!

World Cup finals in 1958. Brazil faced Sweden in the 1994 semi-finals too. Actually, a fun fact is that Brazil vs Sweden is tied as the most meetings between two teams in World Cup history with 7 meetings. Other teams who faced each other 7 times are Germany vs Argentina and Germany vs Serbia/Yugoslavia.

I am not particularly interested in Brazil winning but if they do win I wont mind if they play aswell as they have done it will be deserved. I think most people who dislike Brazil winning have more reason to be vocal about it thats all. If they win one is going to lose much sleep. And I personally would be happy for them. On \ Brazil Belgium specifically I really hope Dembele plays instead of Witsel. Witsel is an average player who excels at pretty much nothing. And because of the 3-4-3 Martinez is playing KDB is playing way to deep because he has to cover for the wingbacks pushing up so much. He needs to be in like a CAM or behind the striker type role or fuck if you are playing a 3-4-3 then play Dembele who has more power play and mobility in him so that he can do more dirty work (and hes skilled enough to release the ball into space aswell) and let KDB of a leash a bit. I have hardly seen him touch the ball in the final third in the tournament and its really grating me now. You have the best all round player from the PL and you make him play like fucking Dunga. if I am brazil and KDB is playing holding midfielder im like.. fuck yeah ez game.

His fanboyism aside, I do agree that Dembele would provide so much more for Belgium's midfield like how he's done it at Spurs when he provides Ali and Erikssen the freedom to make plays. Witsel chose to pursue his professional football career in Russia. That alone should be enough to not even make the national team, let alone the first lineup.

lower side, i'm excited about England finally not fucking it up, i did call them choke kings for a reason xD as for us, im pretty confident vs Russia even tho Croatia usually plays better vs favored teams, contrary to what 739 said. Uruguay will let us have the ball, I'm afraid of penalties. Brazil Belgium should be the good game. Meunier and Carrasco are terrible, so is Fagner while the forwards of both teams are fantastic. Russia Croatia and Sweden England will be ugly. None of those teams should be in the top8, let alone the top4 or the final and yet we could witness the biggest world cup hold up ever. what a twat :')

The fact that Debruyne also has to play DM is indeed annoying, but replacing Witsel by Dembele doesn't fix that issue. Still hoping for the 4-2-1-3 I suggested in the other thread, but Martinez has all but confirmed that it'll be the same 3-4-3 again. I think that's us out then.

Didn't watch much Dembele playing international football but he was pretty much Xabi Alonso level at Spurs though ...

Granted it was B teams in a dead rubber but he was by some measure the best player on the pitch in the England Belgium tie. Didnt take Naingo either who would have actually been literally a perfect fit but Martinez wants to play with width and sit his midfielders deeper so whatever, if it doesnt work the blame will fall squarely on him even if he ends up going to his Fellaini plan B and it works. (which against teams like Brazil I sincerely doubt)
