if he wasnt out, i dont know why he would drop his arm like that to the ground. is that some sort of fighting strategy? it looked like his arm "woke up" after the ref picked it up. i dont blame the ref one bit like the commentators and the fans are doing right now

His legs and arm did seem to go limp, but the second that Herb Dean shook his arm, he moved amd gave a thumbs up. Props for not stopping that fight when Askren was getting pounded. As my first funky fight, he's a very interesting character. Surprised how collected he seemed, just a very unique personality. Give him Covington next? Surprised how strong he looked, given that when I look at his frame it looks like he could cut to bantamweight lol. Edit: I think I was right in my assessment that Lawler can't keep anyone off of him though. To me it looks too easy how Askren was closing the distance, Askren didn't seem fast or explosive to me.

It creates some space by releasing your muscles and creates tension on your way out. But I agree, he definitely looked out. I think he tried to deal punishment to the takedown attempts on his way down instead of just dodging those attempts. Seemed a bit unnecessary risky to me, and he both almost won with that at the start, and got the loss out of it too. Zabit is technically amazing, the two rounds he won were a lot more dominant than the one he lost, but his cardio only gives him two full rounds and like the last minute or so of the last one, so far. It was the case on his Bochniak fight too. He doesn't look gased out, but his defense drops. Garbrandt has the fight IQ of a potato though, lost his last 3 fights the same way, exchange in the middle, his neck doesn't move at all and he goes down. Easier to go for brawls against him when his head is right down in the middle each time. Really enjoyed Zhang & Usman performances, I hoped Usman didn't get punished by the ref breaking out positions where he was active. Thanksfully he didn't. I don't think Woodley had a day off, he was attacked on his biggest weakness, the cardio by constant pressure. Just had to be dealt by a wrestler instead of a volume striker - probably because of the OHKO counterstrike threat. Just missing the Walker fight, from what I've read here it was entertaining, whatever that means? Gonna catch up to that for sure!

Edit: I don't think we'll have a rematch, Askren doesn't want it at least.

He even breaks kayfabe during the interview... I just hope Askren shuts up enough so that Dana White doesn't fire him.
