No we don't have to wait a year..Mike clearly said mid-2010 release, so even if there's a major delay no one's waiting a year. They are definitely releasing in 2010, they want it to be the biggest year in the history of Blizzard. Not to mention the large possibility that a cracked beta will leak into torrent sites. If the beta gets cracked the full game will be delayed for ages till they find a way to prevent it.

Honestly, I will be shocked if the beta is cracked. Maybe skirmish, maybe.

SC2 will probably take longer since Bnet 2.0 isn't the same system, but I doubt Blizzard would let something like that influence their release date.

Nah, my friend got in the WC3 beta with opt-in the first day it started. If you're chosen, your wave can be anytime, right from the start or even two weeks before the end of the beta.

I like how this thread turned into "How long does it takes to crack the beta?"

Blizzard knows their game is going to get cracked for offline play already.

What were the sources for WC3 beta keys prior to the opt-in?

Hehe what a love/hate relationship with the beta...
On one hand I would love to play SC2 before almost anyone else, but on the other I would hate for my schoolwork to be ruined.

I'm sorry for the "rough" language but that's my option for the poll of what reaction u had.

WC3 beta didn't have 20,000 Blizzcon/BWWI keys to deal with.

Beta is in 18 days max, wow. The last two days of the month are Sat/Sun. I would count those out.
