(Make sure you search well tho) There were a few other ones going up from $250 to about $400! (I got mine for $150 last year, since BlizzCon '09 screwed everyone over oO) EDIT: + Show Spoiler + On February 14 2010 08:34 DeCoup wrote: 20,000 people received keys last year at blizzcon, and there have been heaps of other key give-aways. And Blizzard have still said that as well as this there will be many opt in players from the start of beta. I wonder how many players they intend to start beta with. On February 14 2010 08:41 Integra wrote: Do we even know the amount of Beta keys Blizzard has given out? Last year's BlizzCon (2009) didn't give out any beta keys. Only Grunty the Murloc pets for WoW... WOW! 2008 is when they gave out the keys. I read somewhere the other day that they gave out 12K beta keys at blizzcon but there were also conventions in other parts of the world (Russia, Korea, Germany, etc) +opt-ins, contests, etc... I'd say well over 100,000 people will be participating in beta. Just a guess tho. I just had to cash out for a new PC so I can participate in beta. It was long overdue but beta was just the final straw that forced me to upgrade! Pricey but I think it'll worth it in the long run. ^^

Later this month might mean June... Or next year... or never oO It's Blizzard! I mean if they never went back on their announcements - the game would be out by now oO

While I would love to be in beta I don't think it's worth it to spend that much money to play in it. The game will probably be out in 4-6 months anyways. If you pay more than $90 that's more than a WoW subscription, $200-$400 and you're looking at what's effectively a short term utility that will later be more or less free.... They released the minimum requirements for beta just awhile back and, heck, my 4 year old economy laptop can probably run SC2 somewhat comfortably. Sure, it won't be the prettiest, but by no means am I "forced" to upgrade.

I've been wanting a new pc anyway. Oh and I bought my key for $150. Registered it. Seems to be ok. I mean PayPal guarantees your money back... So if you can afford it and willing to cash out - get it! If not - wait for the game!
