Scan does so much for the non-korean community, streams regularly while explaining in english, uploads LOADS of replays and are always willing to help out. I really don't know why since so many of you guys are acting like total b*tches to him Sure you guys can hope for an EU Only tournament, but that excludes NA aswell ? you shouldnt be bitching on the tournament organizers that its for everyone

The Zooms mentioned earlier really were really distracting and not used well. Seeing that you try to mostly cater to your core audience makes it somewhat understandable, but not less hard to watch at for the viewers. I'm not sure it really does the trick there to help outsiders to understand the game, or add anything to the overall quality of your stream. Being different doesn't mean you're being better with something in the long run. Just use Zooms to spice things up slightly, not as main ingriedent for the stream. After reading some of the moronic posts in this thread and your responses to that, I can't help but wonder if there isn't some grain of truth hidden somewhere. Sure, you're probably critized way too harshly for the commentary, but you seem to leash out a lot more than you would if it was just the standardised bullcrap posters that you sadly have. Maybe try to show that you are a grown up and fully functional adult by simply ignoring those people. Justifying your wording with numbers won't impress me or anyone else - just keep doing your thing. Eventually, the tone will even out and there are definitely people grateful to have something to play in or watch. As for money and donors goes: You probably don't know, but we had some idiots in the past years trying the most amusing things, e.g. selling Canadian hockey cards, or yet another big name trying to promote pyramid schemes of a Russian thug. Therefore some of us are somewhat suspicious, especially if it comes with the "business wording". Doesn't mean you're a thug, but it's something you should explain with a few words more - as in: donations go to the prize pool. Case closed for any rational being. If that already happened, you can ignore this last paragraph.

" but it's something you should explain with a few words more - as in: donations go to the prize pool. " They made it very clear the money donated would go to the pricepool, something you would have heard if you havent muted them? Thanks Base trade for a nice tour.

The game is about strategy okay, knowing what and when to do. You know how ex-pros do instructional videos nowadays, where they analyze every aspect of a build down to the most minute timings? Well scan's the only player in the "foreign" community that has access to them. Not like he even needed that, he can just ask things in the korean community. Besides, scan's the only one that can practice his matchups against an ex-pro coz he knows some of them and the level is not that different, whereas if Eon would to try and ask like Piano for some TvZ's he'd be ridiculed. These two factors are what I called an objective advantage. You're a foreigner and you want a Canata rep-pack to learn smart TvZ plays? Get fucked. You're scan? Just browse korean forums and download it. When you say "let's kick neeb from NA tournaments hurr durr" in an attempt to mock this kinda restriction, the analogy doesn't make sense. The skill is not the criterion here, it's the access to more facilities. It's basically disallowing a professional team from participating in an amateur competition. What a stupid idea, yeah? But anyway this has been discussed to death as someone already pointed out and the discussions weren't terribly constructive. It's simply down to the admins if they wanna see scan as the winner everytime he signs up. Neeb had the support to move to Korea, practice with Koreans and now has a lot of Korean friends who he can discuss strategies with, clearly giving him an objective advantage vs players like Pokebunny, so he should be banned from NA events. If you think Scan should be banned for your listed reasons, then you're in favor of banning Neeb. Which is obviously fucking stupid, I'm just pointing out how stupid the entire "ban Scan" idea is. This entire banning Scan from events idea is just people who aren't good enough to win themselves crying because they can't beat someone better than them. Grow up, you want a competitive scene? Then get good enough to be competitive.

To make this post more productive, I'll try to give constructive criticism of the cast: - zoom out way less, use the standard zoom as much as possible: Even in SC2 cast (frankly, I haven't seen many in the past years) the zoom feature isn't used very much and this should be the standard in every Remastered cast - if you cannot tell the reason behind a strategy, do not assume stuff. In high-level BW (and in SC2 probably as well) pretty much every move a player does has an intention and fits into a greater scheme of the strategy. Sometimes you speculated too much about things that were just obviously not true. It is better not to speculate (especially with no deeper understanding of the game), than to say something wrong. - learn all the spells and units and use their proper names. F.e. it is speedlots not chargelots in Remastered. I know that you are so used to "chargelots" and that you just say it naturally, but it drives BW fans crazy. Sure I can understand that most viewers have SC2 background and hence will understand what you mean, but it would be a really huge improvement for BW fans in your stream. - try to take a look into the chat more often. I know as a caster it is hard to speak fluently, spectate the game and check the chat, but I have seen so many good stuff that was said in the chat. Often times chat could help you out and tell you the used BO and strategy behind. It is harder for you to pick out the actual correct stuff out of the twitch chat, but as far as I could observe most of the stuff said in the chat was actually right. You might say that this would be boring, because people already seen the information in the chat, but not every person sees the chat and even if they do, it is better if you say something correct than predict incorrect stuff. You guys won't learn all the basics from casting few hours every other week and hence try to take the advice in your own chat, And as we all learnt in school probably, good criticism always ends with things that I liked about your stream. So here are some: - the high production value -> nice scenes and good graphics - the casters chime together very well - the breaks in between were short and well placed - good voices for casting - overall it really seemed very smooth (which probably comes from years of experience in SC2 )

I just came here to say I liked the casting. I thought Rifkin's questions from a beginner's perspective and ZG's effort to answer them in a not confusing manner were welcoming to folks new to broodwar. Thank you for the entertainment.

If that already happened, you can ignore this last paragraph. To be entirely fair, some of the people you're referring to have brought more outside sponsorship to Brood War since the beginning of StarCraft 2 than the remainder of the community combined. Yes, there have been crowd funded events, but you're not referring to any of them here. I'm not overly surprised that there is still a stigma, but no one can argue that the tournament results were better with these personalities that you hate as compared to after they left. Maybe apologies are due and the hatchet should be buried because it has no place in this thread or any other.

You can visually see their plays and catch some names like 'tuh-ret', 'ma-lin', 'cuh-men-du' and so on. Most of the instructional videos are pretty much 5 to 6 min maximum. After that, you are kinda needed to figure out by yourself because thats the game timer players show their individual point of views, playstyle, decisionwise, and so on.
