The ARMA 3 alpha will be released today and I'm quite hyped for it. The full release will be later this year but you can buy the alpha now for a reduced price. It is of note that the alpha will have mod support (not all tools will be available right from the get go).
ARMA 3 is an upcoming open world tactical shooter video game being developed by Bohemia Interactive. It is expected to be released in Q3 2013. ARMA 3's storyline takes place in the mid-2030s during the fictional Operation Magnitude, a military operation launched by NATO forces fighting in Europe against "Eastern armies" led by a resurgent Iran.
Is the alpha worth buying? Have u tried it? going at their shop and selecting the alpha version doesnt give me any other links to purchase... whats up with that? is it not available yet or am i doing something wrong?
it just went up on steam http://store.steampowered.com/app/107410. I think it is worth it. You can wait until the 15th of march and get a demo version as well if you want to try it out before you buy it, or just wait for the full release (it will be more expensive then though) I'm gonna try it out now

Worth noting is that if you buy it through BI store site, the developers get a bigger cut of the money... however the site is down so bad luck for them I guess.
How's the performance? I'd buy it right now but i'm afraid of it stuttering on my pc. If anyone has an extra lite key I'd really appreciate it
If the code on the supporter edition confirmation email is any indication, I was the first to get an order through, after half an hour of anxiety. It still complains I don't have the game for whatever reason, but it'll sort itself out eventually.
I should have been more clear. Why is DayZ Standalone being made on the engine (modified) of Arma 2 instead of on the same engine as this game.
Edit: Also if anyone has any lite invites available I'd love one. Already buying DayZ standalone so I'm not sure I'd want to buy this game unless I enjoy the multiplayer.
The things that I didn't like about Arma 2 basically only had to do with the AI randomly running off course or not doing what you told them to, so if they've sorted that out then I'll probably love this game.
I pray to god they add all of these features to the Dayz standalone. Have played allot of dayz and so I know the Arma 2 engine. I have been in a lot of situations where these features could have saved my butt or enhance my player experience, it would be a damn shame not seeing them incorporated into the standalone. Think of it, not only would you get a zombie survival game but also a military tactical shooter in one package. One can only hope can't he ?
