Dat ass. :D
I thought Blizzard stated they were going to make it so you bought the expansion just for the campaigns and the multiplayer (ladder) side of things was going to be updated (free?) so people stay on the same page? ¯\_(ツ)_/¯

I don't think the change from WoL to HotS will be as bad as say BW to SC2. apart from working out some new strats if a certain unit, abilty changes or new unit is added. by the sounds of it they are at least a year and a half away from finishing it more or less with execelent testing.
I am sure tournaments will think maybe its a good idea during the transistion to all hold off for say a month or two after release for the pros to Normalize a few new strats after game release. But i hope for a few good beta tourneys. and me getting a beta key for it, so i can bronze it up but focusing on crushing bugs and glitches .
Its sounding good and hopefully with finish stronger, hopefully for stronger lings to help defend at the begining of a match.
This campaign is gonna be awesome!!! but i have a few points that i don't like/hate: - only 20 missions? i though blizzard made the trilogy mainly because of hots? - Is it possible, i would hate it so much, if this kerrigan we play i just a clone of the real kerrigan? + Show Spoiler +
in the leaked ending there were 2 kerrigans, on infested and one not, so could it be that you play the whole campaign the clone-kerrigan and she gets infested again and then, when you crush mengsk, the real kerrigan has been captured and kept in a stasis. that explains the kerrigan in the teaser.
one thing i would love <3 - in the artwork with the ultralisk you see taht the right arm of kerrigan is infested, could it be that she gets infested again? it's being said, that her dna changes after some battles, the strange thing said it, the one that makes the upgrades :3

You will get exactly what you want. You can keep playing WoL multiplayer with the ones who are in an agreement with you while the rest of us plays HotS
Surprising to see that they designed to immortal to be a meatshield (that's why they have a short attack range). Good article btw, I like the fact that HotS will be an add-on, so cheaper than buying a whole game.
That single player preview makes WoL look like a pretty cheap game and uninspired game, almost as if they wanted to get something out the door to get the ball rolling on the franchise *cough cough*.
Looking forward to a chance at beta closed or open would be nice regardless.
"We're going to add some new multiplayer units, and take out some multiplayer units"
I was totally not expecting that they'd be willing to go all the way and take out units! This will be... interesting.
I really hope they change their criteria for making new units from things that are "cool" to something more specific, like units that can have large opportunity for micro and follow the easy-to-learn-hard-to-master scheme. I hope they add more interesting interactions (like rine baneling) and remove some of the boring ones (immortal anything).
Also, am I the only one that thinks the Overseer comment was weird? I mean, yeah, the Overseer is not the coolest unit in the world, but it's got it's use and it sees plenty of play, and moving detection to ovies would be too strong. Maybe they plan on making a Zerg version of the Raven... hell if I know.

That's why Blizzard is such an awesome game producing company. This phylosophy should apply for the whole gaming industry but profits discourage that attitude i guess.

You're crazy. Blizzard has quite clearly been encouraged by profits this entire time. Half the reason they've refused to back down from their custom game system is because of their plan to implement the market system. They've withheld content such as clan support and plan to introduce it in following games just to be able to excuse the price tag on not one but two expansions.
They keep on saying that the marketplace system will encourage players to make better maps. In that case, why are they keeping the custom game system the way it is? Surely they realize that map makers are incredibly discouraged at the realization that their maps probably won't be played due to the interface. Blizzard's "innovation" has done nothing but kill a lot of great map maker's ambitions and drives.
Meanwhile, their main excuse for expanding the game into 3 parts, which was focused around how they had too much content in the story to fit into one game, turned out to be bullshit (which was to be expected) in WoL. 90% of the missions feel like filler missions that have nothing to do with the main storyline. They don't even serve to add any depth to any of the characters. Frankly, what happened in WoL could've easily been fit into a third of the game (ie. terran campaign in BW)
Somehow, the story team of Starcraft 1 managed to use text and portraits (mission briefing) to add more depth to the Universe of Starcraft than the SC2 team managed to do in 30 missions while allowing you to go talk to any of the characters.
Seriously, if you think Blizzard's answer to do the question about the release date is fueled by a desire to make the players happy, you're crazy. This company has been solely concerned with turning their franchise's into cash cows since the merge.
TL;DR The story blows. Their excuse to turn the game into 3 parts is obviously BS, given how short/shallow the story from WoL was. Their excuse to add a marketplace system is hypocritical given how their custom game interface has successfully prevented great map makers from making said maps. The idea that Blizzard is saying "soon" because they don't care about money is absurd.

zomg, at 40 minutes... The story is fucked. They're going to turn the erg into cute little creatures! NOOOOOOOOOOOO. Someone STOP this madness!
I think they are trying to get the Zerg to be a more sympathetic race to the player while shifting the raw evil status to what ever the Dark Voice is, while still keeping the Zerg as a ruthless, insane group of badasses.
I understood that. Thanks. You know what this reminds me of? The orc to burning legion transformation. So fucking original.

You: 1 The entire rest of the world: 6,000,000,000
This is a numbers game I don't think you'll be winning :x
Indeed, I'd actually be extremely disappointed if they DIDN'T make some changes to multiplayer. It's already getting so boring for me. -,-
I played some SC2BW last night for fun and it reawakened my hope for what SC2's future COULD BE, but I believe it will still take some tweaking/adding/deleting to get there.

Now you're just making fun at me.That's not what I meant! xD I'll moderate my opinion though:
The should not mess around with the multiplayer aspect too much. Maybe add/remove a unit or two, but that's it! And please don't force me to buy the expansion to play the multiplayer

That's why there's going to be a WoL ladder. You'll be able to keep playing without the HotS unit changes without buying HotS, with other people who wish to play WoL.
I can't believe some people are actually complaining about separate ladders. They have done this with their last 2 RTS games...What is different this time?
Overseers with their active abilities are a whole lot cooler than observers at least. As for having units being too similar to one and other, yes they are.
The tier 1.5 units are all basically the same for the three races (marauder, roach and stalker) with an upgradable gimmick added to each one. If they wanted unique units they'd have kept the lurker, which is a completely unique unit that adds a static twist to the zerg arsenal and gameplay.
