The past 2 weeks of Starcraft have been anything but good... I hope this isn't the beginning of what is to come with esports rising. People need to stop the hate and support anyone trying to go pro! That is what we are all about, isn't it?

But I also don't support the people who are saying anything worse than what I just said, nor do I support any of the supposed hatred and pictures which I haven't seen. Yeah, ladder ranking is all that people should consider when giving someone an opportunity to play on a team................. :o edit - Go SlayerS! And go BoxeR!!!!!!! <3 I didn't mean to imply that ladder ranking was the only important factor, but I do think it's quite a bit more important than gender and looks, which have been explicitly stated as reasons why she was added to the team.If you were in grandmasters on KR, playing against professionals, how would you feel when your chance to join a team is taken by someone else because she's a girl and you're a guy? I know a lot of people support affirmative action in e-Sports, but I'm not one of them. yes this is why people have to check their information is this information comes from thisisgame.com it was a speculation of the journalist not an actual statement of the team check it for yourself : http://thisisgame.com/board/view.php?id=703754&category=102 From the OP: She was not selected through the pro-gamer casting system, but she is someone I selected for the team to help start having female competitors in Starcraft 2 Maybe I was wrong about the looks part, but my point stands. Gender shouldn't be a factor at all. Why shouldn't gender be a factor? It's their team, and they want to do more than just make a strong team - they want to help e-Sports grow. If you watched BoxeR's Wings, you'd see the sheer amount of passion and effort Jessica and BoxeR put into creating their team. Finding sponsors, finding a team house, all while Jessica took care of BoxeR while BoxeR practiced for the GSL. And after all that hard work from scratch, suddenly they can't recruit whoever they damn well please? What's with this idealistic sense of entitlement?
They can pick whomever they want. All I've said is that I don't support those decisions. Eve hasn't earned anything.

Eve takes up resources, which means these are fewer resources for other players. Whoever practices with her is going to get next to nothing from the practice, because she's not good enough to put up a fight. She's also going to take up coaching time that would be better used on the players who are actually competing.
I'm also guessing the SlayerS house has a finite capacity, so Eve being there means someone else can't be.
Wow that's a lot of speculation on how their team operates. Do we even know if Eve is staying at the SlayerS house? We know that SlayerS Dragon isn't.
If you're going to assume that whoever practices with her isn't going to gain anything then MC, Nestea, etc probably shouldn't bother with anyone that haven't placed well in tournaments? That's a pretty grim way to look at things.

+1, liked, plussed, up-voted, etc.

This happens every day and it's pathetic to waste court resources when their are many other serious issues going on. so you are from the future ? Female gaming will never be up to par with male gaming. It's like any other sport. It's funny how this is called sexism. When the only reason she was chosen was because she is a female why does it have to be on par? a lot of female sports aren't on par with their male counterparts, does that mean they should all just not play and just go home? why can't females pursue their own dreams? they want to get more females into esports, i dont see how that's a bad thing. Separate the two in that case. Start a slayer girls team. But mixing the two an downgrading the skill is worthless. I hope that this gets settled and the flaming stops, almost everyone on TL supports SlayerS and every member of it. She's not being overtly dramatic. Jessica is speaking from personal experience. This. She's a veteran of the entertainment industry. People are so ignorant. They don't give her enough credit for actually knowing the dangers of cyberbullying, especially in Korean culture. At first, I didn't think things through and worried about her somewhat, thinking she was being a bit naive, but with this clarification and upon further thought, I think that people dismissing her actions for being a big overreaction are truly the naive ones. Then resolve it in KR. What does TL have to do with it...? TL.net is kind of the biggest starcraft 2 website out there, you know? She probably thought that we just might be interested in SC2 related news, considering how the SlayerS team is on tl.net.

Total support. Nothing more to add

Everyone who is mad because Jessica selected Eve must be gay! Who does not want to see female pro-gamers!! 0.o I am loving the initiative and people should stop flaming that she was only selected because she was a girl. Why? Because Jessica said it herself that it was because she was a girl! Jessica wants to see women in SC2 and so do I! So, unless you are gay, you should stop complaining about this...

Fine, if it's going to be like that, I'll remove examples and make this as definitive as possible. Slayers has limited resources. Eve consumes those resources. There are fewer resources left for others.

it is a fact that starcraft 2 is a male dominated world. why is it wrong to try to upbend that trend by getting a female trainee and shaping her from the start.
i remember reading somewhere that july was picked because he had fast hands. that was it he had no prior experience to starcraft. they just saw his hand speed and thought he would be a great addition
i also remember an interview with mcs old bw team. they said that they chose mc despite him not being very good looking because they picked good looking players in the past and got burned by it. that means that male players were actually picked by looks as well in the past.
