Yeah because we all know that the best players in the world NEVER LOSE GAMES EVER
Genius
In GSTL always the team what you less expect to win, will win. So yeah...
And AOL nothing to say...
I'm confused. What's the reason for not taking GSTL or AOL seriously?
Well, I dont agree on the GSTL-part
However, the AoL does seem to not be taken very seriously by alot of the players, unfortunately
Really? I never understand this argument, ever. Why the fuck would any player play lower than their ability in a publicised tournament with prize money? What do they possibly have to lose by playing their best? Why would MVP put his reputation on the line by losing to DRG?
Basically, I'm not buying it, I don't even understand why anyone would think that.
I agree. Not preparing doesn't mean not taking the tournament seriously. They play each game to win, that's seem so obvious I don't understand how can this statement be disputed. It's not like MVP needs a full week for practicing for DRG, especially when he beat him exactly 24 hours before.
Not practicing specifically for an opponent is silly reasoning. They've been playing sc2 for a year and it's not like they forgot how to play just because they didn't prepare something specific for a player. They still know how to play the game free style just based on skill.

I agree with this. It can also be argued that the amount of preparation involved for normal GSL matches ends up producing more major BO advantages/wins, which I find to be less exciting than some of the games with less preparation (or at least a nice change of pace).
Like always, fans of players who looses are saing things like "they dont take it seriously", "He is just messing around" and other crap. Especially Nestea fans are experts in that because their gods never loose because artosis said that..
I really don't understand why people are saying that MVP didn't prepare because of GSL and lost due to that. Since if I remember correctly DRG is also in GSL and he hasn't even played his matches yet like some have. So by that logic he hasn't prepared as well.
As I see it two players (prepared or not) went head to head and the better player today won.

If I was a fan of Nestea I would be pissed off if he didn't take it seriously. Despite its low price pool, it is still Arena of Legends, which is prestige for its name and uniqueness.
Now, I do think Nestea/MVP took it seriously, but probably not as serious as the regular GSL. Meaning, they prepare less.

Can't really blame em. Most of these matches haven't really looked of the code S quality that the players typically exhibit. Losira vs. MKP? The fuck was that?
Say what you will but I really don't think Nestea was playing seriously against MMA especially. No it isn't because he lost, he's totally capable of doing retarded shit and blowing the match just like everyone else even when a lot is on the line (gstl). The main indicator of that wasn't just the mistakes but really his style. He almost never plays aggressively like July/Drg against terran, but he did in the AoL. So I reserved judgement until I saw how he was going to play the ro32. ro32 comes and not only was the play a lot better, but totally opposite of what he did in the AoL -_-. This really lines up as well, considering the AoL and ro32 were only a few days apart and his entire group was terran. Why show what I've prepared to a team as meticulous of their opponent's play as slayers is, for a chance at a prize that's essentially the same as getting out of my volatile ro32 terran group? Very suspect. The tournament just kind of feels like a test run for the gsl :/

Most of these guys are in GSL so they go in on an even footing. MVP practiced with nestea on Terminus so why would you think he wasn't ready for that game against DRG? They probably didn't prepare too much for the games compared to GSL, but they went in on a pretty much even footing. DRG isn't gonna be practicing a lot for this tournament either.

Anyone with a brain saw Nestea hiding his new vs T style for Code S when they played in AOL. He didn't lose purposefully but neither did he show MMA his full hand.
I just watched the vods. Man, HuK isn't mistake-proof but I've never seen him make so many over that many games in a row. Maybe after the first few it just got in his head and fucked up his game.

Nestea didnt played well in GSL ro32. Yea he won, but if MMA didnt move marines towards to banes, he would easily won, he had such a big advantage. I missed game against Nada, but Nada is in slump i would say. If he will beat MVP in ro8, i will change my opinion, but so far from what i seen Nestea do his ZvT is bad.

Or maybe he is was playing seriously and practised a new zvt and wanted to test it on MMA? There has to be a time you use it the first time against ppl that don't expect it (no practice parnters) and AoL is a better choice for that then GSL considering the risk. i am not saying he did not played serious but to say "he did something different so he didn't took it serious" is kinda silly.
Honestly, i'm a zerg, and thus a DRG fan, but you have to agree that players like MVP and Nestea keep their most refined build for GSL, because it takes ALOT to win a GSL, it's not just playing standard every game, if you use all your bullets on AOL you'll not win GSL...
