Teachers and friends looked at me funny, but if I saw a pattern on the ground made by tiles, I HAD TO follow it. If there was a rhythm in my head, I HAD TO walk along with it. And gah, "completing sets" of actions: If I hummed a note, I had to do it three more fricken times to bring the total up to four. I considered the number three really, REALLY taboo and kept noticing how so many of my math homework answers were multiples of three, and I HATED IT. This isn't really a phobia. You many very well have a mild form of OCD. But I probably do too. On February 23 2012 09:40 Hikko wrote: I can't poop in public bathrooms. I've done it like twice in my life, both were when I had diarrhea. This is just good hygene. I can relate. If it's someone I don't know very well, I often end up thinking about whether people washed their hands before they made the food or what they put in it. It makes no sense, I know. Years ago I worked in the bakery department and later meat department of a grocery store and learned first hand that a lot of food that we buy is probably processed in conditions that would make a lot of people cringe. Wasn't breaking any health department regulations or anything, but it certainly wasn't the sterile clean enviroment that we all love to think of. Plus it's usually prepared by a smelly weird guy, but that's another story entirely.

Lastly, for some reason I am uncomfortable with the number 292. It just... freaks me out. I have absolutely no explanation why, it just does. Dude how on earth did you find that out and actuly remember it. Interestingly that number also went into my eyes really quick so I guess I have a very tiny fear of it. As for what I know aboute me I have a tiny fear of looking at lots of holes. I discoverd it when I watched the video linked from the thread talking aboute the swarm host on the same issue.

There was lots of talk about rabies on radio as it has virtually disappeared in France, but once in a while there is one case and all the media freaks out. Little I understood what it was about, but I though there should be a reason people making such a big deal out of it. The trip wire phobia when walking in the dark reminded me of one of my own fears. When my dad would drive me to school when I was between age 11-14, we would use a small forest road. There was this spot where I imagined someone could setup a very thin strong sharp wired that would cut the cars roof at height of our head... decapitation... yay. Always made me uncomfortable at that spot, yet it wasn't a phobia as the reaction was mild but still real.

I also cant stand needles when they puncture a (not only my) vein. Getting a vaccine or anything is fine with me, as long as the needle doesn't puncture a vein (like the inside of your elbow if they need to tap some of your blood). On a funny side note: when i was a kid i used to be scared of vampires, so at night i'd pull my bedsheets well over my neck so my neck arteries weren't exposed. Not afraid anymore (lol), but i still pull my bedsheets way up to my face xD

EDIT* On top of this its a more general fear of not being able to move my limbs, espeically neck. In high school my friends used to all dog pile me and I would flip out. Its not really claustrophobia cause I can sit in a closet and such, but if its get small enough and I notice I cant lift my head or stretch my legs I get paranoid. I used to have a very big fear or murderers too when I was a kid, and used to sleep with my dog to protect me, musta been some fucked up horror movies or something. Lasted probably 3-4 years.

I want you guys that have phobias to know that they can be cured. I got myself better with my phobia even if it's not completely gone. You have to confront your fears regularly and accept the emotions you feel in your body.
