I knew about Kony before the campaign (hipster glasses) and despite the perhaps lacking non-profit group, I was glad that there was some press on the matter.
Deep down I knew there would be people like Pika Chu in this topic. He has been vomiting his worldview over several topics for a while now. His vile worldview consists of little more than justifying anything as long as the perpetrators are not white Americans.
I knew they would come and piss over the graves of children, yet it seems to be no less offensive now that they are doing it.
Don't trust them when they ask for proof. Don't humor them. They don't give a shit. You can give them hundreds of pages of well documented evidence and they will not accept it, because it doesn't fit in their perception of how the world works.
Kony and his ilk are an enemy to each person with a conscience. That is why he is a friend to Pika Chu and other conspiracy nuts like him. Thank you. It's hard sometimes to ignore these people and remember that no amount of proof will satisfy them, especially when this is a subject that does matter to me.

Just a question for the 'anti war' left who now seem to be begging Obama and NATO to invade Africa like they invaded the middle east 10 years back. How can you be so against the wars in the middle east where foreign citizens were treated ruthlessly at the hands of murderers like Saddam and the taliban but support so strongly an invasion of Uganda to get this Kony guy.You must realise many civilians will die in this conflict and many thousands of Ugandans will rally around KONY because they see the US/NATO led invasion of Uganda rightfully as a threat?
All the past 18 months has shown is how little difference there is between the right and the left.
To quantify my own position i am against the middle east wars AND any African invasions , i was also against the Libyan intervention and would be against any strike on Iran , Pakistan , North Korea etc.Let other countries sort out their own affairs.

by the way there IS large oil deposits in Uganda

What you said is perfect. People ignore the fact you can't stop the crazies out there without force. Peace won't stop the killings. Big guns stepping up in a world that no one appears to care about will. Once they get what they want, they will change their protest back to anti-war even though it will be war that will hopefully one day end this crisis.

You stop one terror group 10 more takes its place with same ideology and even more ruthless and radical.
If Africa own government doesnt want to help I fail to see what the rest of the world can do.
This is Ugandan people's problem. They need to fix it on their own. Their government caused this genocide by creating a maniac like Joseph Kony from first place because their own president committed a massive genocide on their own people. There is nothing the world can do except keep sending relief organization to look after the victims of civil war. You involve in their war, there is going to be nothing but killing and more casualties.

Everyone should be more civic-minded and empathize with their fellow man. Happiness is best when it is shared.

The problem with night commuting is no longer a problem. At its hight 40,000 children were night commuting but now there are only 10,000 who do it by choice. Uganda still has tons of problems, but it is NOT KONY. the invisible children do not even send 50% of their revenue to Africa, the make about $9million in donations and send over $3million; don’t donate through invisible children find a real non profit organization that actually helps people if you want to help africa. Question is: Would we even really be helping them?

You are the epitomy of internet keyboard warrior. You bitch at others for nothing doing anything. WHAT HAVE YOU DONE OTHER THAN BITCHING AT PEOPLE FOR NOT DOING ANYTHING ON INTERNET??

Have I bitched about people not doing anything? No, I have not. I simply called you a scum bag for measuring human life based on what you feel the rest of the world should care about. As long as it doesn't affect you, who cares, right?
By the way, I think your shift key may be stuck.

By the way, I think your shift key may be jammed. I was talking about an entire US as a nation or any other nations in the world getting involved with Kony and Uganda civil war with military affair, not humanitarian. This isn't a case where some politic intervention gonna solve. Learn to proof read next time before you attempt to insult people. You wouldn't make yourself look like a complete idiot.

You are still stating that countries with the ability to protect civilians don't have any business helping. Just because the government is corrupt doesn't justify the lack of interest from the rest of the world. Turning a blind eye to human life and letting them "sort themselves out" will only lead to more innocent killings.
Anyways, I should go to bed before I become more of a complete idiot for committing 2am typos. How dare I...

I am a part of the 'anti war left'. I do not support the invasion of Uganda and will not unless Kony and the LRA return there and become powerful enough that deployment of a ground based force is the best reasonable means to defend the Ugandan people or some similarly awfull and unlikely situation arises. I support ground-based invasions only when they are the only means available to prevent mass-murder, or similar acts.
Something like the Eichmann arrest would probably work better, if he continues to evade capture.
Kony needs to go down, and part of ensuring that is avoiding anything that would give people cause to rally to him.

Then again there's even people saying he's dead, not official sources I guess. But what if he IS dead?

Yeah but all the hype is to arrest him, so if he's dead what are they going to do? Wipe out his child army?

Try to rehabilitate as many as possible of the kids, bring as many of the adults as possible to trial. Precedent set by Rwanda is that people should not be considered culpable for crimes committed as child soldiers. I don't think the LRA would survive terribly long without Kony at its head due to the cult-like religious elements he uses to heighten his control.
Oh, and celebrate that there is one fewer monster alive.
