I'm having a hard time getting a new weapon... Should I just go pure DPS, or high primary stat weapon? 1 attribute = +1% dmg.
dps outweighs +stat because the bonus from that is proportionately smaller if you have bonuses on the rest of your equipment.

For anyone who isn't too well geared and is having problems, let me tell you that teleport / fracture and illusionist is the best combo out there. Having a permanent blink up with decoys who can get one shoted instead of you lets you kite any elite pack that is slower than you for any amount of time regardless of affixes (unless immune minions lolz)

So I've been farming some cash and debating which legendary with +move to get. I think Tyrael's Might would be the best but a decent one is so expensive so I'm looking between Lacuni Prowlers, Murlocket, and potentially a Unity ring. I haven't seen stats that are too impressive on a Unity yet, so I think I'll be looking between the first two. I also looked at those pants but I feel like the armor loss alone is super rough even if I find one with good int/vit.
When the Murlocket says "+4% poison damage" this means +4% damage to all poison attacks right? Has anyone who uses AO/hydra got a rough idea of how much of the damage is done by the venom hydra so I can rate this?

Looks really cool but anything resembling permafrost/perma DS seems like Blizzard wouldn't want in the game even though it requires gear and I am not willing to invest in that.

Trying out a prismatic armor act 3 run. Will let you guys know how it works out

didn't turn out so well ~

Perhaps the word cheese has not been imported correctly but you can replace "critical mass" with "force armor" and make the same statement about how Blizzard is omniscient, but they still nerfed force armor. Some combination might seem obvious enough once you see it work but you can't expect Blizzard to have tested every combination of skills/passives at every gear level.

So I spent about 1 million upgrading...
Old stats: - 38k hp - 24k dps - 244 all res
New stats: - 39k hp - 37k dps - 245 all res
My weapon is 1075 dps, with 106 int, 120 vit got it for 350k gold. Also spent 540k gold for 186 int, 77 vit,147 dex, 58 allres gloves. I think I overpaid the gloves. Meh.
Am I ready to kill Belial?

Think you definitely overpaid for the gloves lol. I think the most important stat to look for on gloves is all res, crit, or crit dmg, not resists. Get resists on your other pieces of armor.

For Belial its more about zoning, control your kiting space and understand his attack pattern more than about gears. You could pretty much solo him with your old stat if you know how to. I think focusing on DPS is a good direction since you want to clear the mobs asap so your spells could reach him in phase 2.
For weapon choosing, i strongly recommend you to look into types which give some high life on hit and gloves its better to find attackspeed/critchance than just pure int. assuming the weapon isonly 1075dps, i guess it is 1 handed?

It is 2-handed with 1.10 attack speed. I currently do 1.53 attack speed already, since my rings/and amulet give me that. Blizz/hydra/mm(or piercing orb) build
And as for the gloves, crit chance and crit damage don't help me much since I do blizz/hydra. I knew I overpaid, but what is the actual value of them?

Currently if i want to buy something as an upgrade, i will use the value of the item im going to buy minus my current item, then seeing if +10 vit +10 int is worth for me to spend 3 mil on. Never assume that your current gears will sell, if you dont wana use them, who will? I always just keep them and give it to my friends when they reach the level and needed them or sell around 100k and below for repair cost.

yeah, I wasn't sure about the gloves, but I don't know why I bought that. It's decent, but I definitely overpriced. I guess I should be happy because my other stuff is cheap.

Lol? Why would you use boxer's bunker rush as an example for this when the whole point of the argument was "is this cheese or not" and not "is this okay to use" or not. Really unorthodox stuff like this is the most prone to getting nerfed, and diablo 3's history already proves me correct on that. Furthermore, it's okay, but I doubt it's very good for act 3 and beyond where it's a lot harder to survive. A good example would be azmodan. How would you ever do azmodan with this build?
|
I have a question about stats, on a weapon that is, for example 800-1100 with a attack speed of 1.00, and it says +100-300 damage and then +50% damage, what exactly does this mean? I have no idea whether these stats are way better, way worse, or about the same as a wep with ias or int.
Looking at the straight damage number can sometimes be sort of misleading because it is dps and Im running the AO hydra build.
