You have to use virtual audio cables.

Can this program do local recording that I can then upload to YouTube?

Yes, you're basically just using an interface to grab the game video and live encode via x264, output is basically the same as if you were doing an offline encode with pretty much the best encoder available, you're limited in resolution, fps, preset though moreso than if you were doing it offline, because at 30fps you have to do 30 frames of processing within 1 second, while if you were to record the video with something like Fraps or some other method and encode later, you can process it at 1 frame per second if you want with x264, it doesn't matter in the end, just takes longer (the problem is when live you cant conjure that time out of nowhere, when not live you can just leave your PC for longer)

That is one long sentence.

I have trouble conveying information :/

You should actually have had a period or probably a semicolon instead of the comma after x264 and before output, so it could have been shorter without really changing your wording. :D

Thanks, that helps a lot more than random hurtful comments

You need a break here and there, a week, maybe a month.

I just updated to the latest OBS from a very old version that didn't have the game capture plug-in. However, I was not able to stream SC2 while in full screen mode. My game capture is set to [SC2]: Starcraft II, but the only thing that shows up is my SC2 cursor and a black screen. I can only get it to work if I set it to full screen windowed mode. Is this a common issue or is it just me?
|
Nothing to worry about, that's how sc2 works while is set to fullscreen mode, as in it doesn't renders anything if it's in background (alt-tabbed to desktop). Anyway you find the solution by yourself, windowed fullscreen.
|
Ah that's unfortunate. I think I was able to before, but I don't remember how. I can't really stream effectively with windowed fullscreen since my FPS dips to 50ish with some stutter.

It does work, it just won't show if you're tabbed out of SC.

For some reason when I'm just doing a local recording set at 1080 @ 60fps, looks fine when im actually recording, then when i watch it after the quality plummets to what looks like 240 or something. How do i go about fixing this?

This short VOD should essentially portray my problem that is seen on stream. Doesn't not having the plugin work in full screen defeat the purpose of the plugin? When I stream I'm in windowed full screen, but the second I change it to full screen the stream goes black with only a SC2 cursor to be found.

Are you sure you added game capture not monitor / window capture?

Ok big problem. I created a first video on Europa Universalis 3, worked perfectly (except some lag on the video but i don't know what settings i should take on "video"). But i wanted to created a new video, i up my version to 0.50b, and now i have a big problem. I don't know why but the video game image don't change, i can see my cursor going to the right or the left, but the camera didn't move (it move in the game)... What is that problem. Is it come from the new version ?
