Although I guess to be fair a few of the teams, like ATN I believe, had a bunch of "ex-pros" on their team already.

Dunno if the LCS training didn't really do anything, if these amateurs are just way more talented than the LCS players, or if it was just a fluke. Although I guess to be fair a few of the teams, like ATN I believe, had a bunch of "ex-pros" on their team already. They are only called "amateur" because they are not in LCS and not paid by Riot. Other than that many of them practice just as much as the LCS teams, or even more. They also regularly scrim against the LCS teams thus evolve with them. And for example the MYM players are more experienced than most in LCS. They do this shit for 2 years now.

Not that hard to understand. I haven't really been impressed by any of the new entries either. I mean sure, there are a few good players on each team, but if they really want to compete for the title they will have to get rid of the dead weight.

But hoping that this kind of drastic change of landscape doesn't occur in NA this weekend. >_> Edit: ty Redox <3

Happy at all these new teams that made it (let's be honest, DB/aAa/GIANTS were meh). Even happier that Wolves return. Shame SiJ couldn't make it over some of the other teams, but the EU LCS as a whole is probably stronger now. SNS look like they have some potential.

I know I was pretty big on the MYM train based on how they played before the last qualifier, but their play against Dragonborns didn't impress me at all. Also I don't think aTn can stand up against the top EU teams. Despite being together for so long they are still the textbook definition of a "soloq" team, strong individual play but lacking in overall teamwork. That said, they are both still upgrades over

Still dont think they would have beaten SK then, so they would have still ended up where they are now in the end. Game 1 rage screwed them over more imo.

It's a shame SNS made it in, nukeduck and WeWillFailer don't deserve to play in such an exposed event. They're among the most infamous players on the EUW server, and Failer has a looong history of team drama. Oh well, that's one for reddit, I guess. Hope aTn can finally live up to their potential (Germany represent!), though they could easily end up the whipping boy. Same is probably true for MYM, who looked fairly weak on the weekend - but then, they clawed back after going 0-2 down and have experience on their side.

I don't think they're much better than aTn or MYM at all, and Kottenx/YoungBuck are known to perform inconsistently. Just because they gave the all-beloved Wolves a decent fight, they're suddenly the best amateur team EU. Oh well, GIANTS was just as hyped after Spring Qualifiers, and look where they ended up... I agree with your points on SIJ completely, glad they are out. However SNS did play so solid as a team in the promotions. No matter how much of a history the individual players have, as a team they were among the best, if not the best of the whole promotions. Tabzz really deserved the spot, nukeduck and failer played very very good aswell, I think they can honestly leave the past behind and continue on this path. If they can keep playing like this and maybe even better I can see them competing for place 3/4ish easily

SNS deserve their spot from their performance, true. I'm just not happy they're in - I'd rather have seen tabzz on, say, SiJ instead, and nukeduck/Failer never make it to this point. However good they are, they should probably have been permabanned at this point.

Wolves didn't belong into relegation if you look at how they played in the second half of the spring season so there I'm not surprised they beat SiJ. Giants and aAa were underwhelming to say the least and I'm really not surprised they went down during relegation.

They show flashes of brilliance but it's a problem that they can't perform at the same level, match after match.
