Another video game that is popular. People are upset because their game isn't most popular, or just want to be all dramatic about something until the matches start. You know, standard stuff for the TL and SC2 community.

I swear, I never understood how tabloids got so popular but every now and then I look into the SC2 community, see people like me staring back at me and then I see the kind of filth that gets spread over the internet and realize that some people just can't help themselves.

Its so true. The kids come out of the woodwork, cry about LoL, which is a fine, fun game. Cry about CoD, which is a fine, fun game. And then they cry there isn't a sign made by MLG that says "CoD and LoL are games for children, but we keep them here because dumb people like them. Now, SC2, that's a MAN'S game. And MANLY games go on the biggest stage!" Seriously, Dreamhack didn't have SC2 on the biggest stage. Where is the rage thread for that?

Just MLG, because people just love to hate on them.

It's similar to how SC2 actually was close to/beat League of Legends last event, mostly due to the fact that League only had a thrown together four team international tournament and then some forgettable amateur matches, while SC2 had the first HotS tournament with the most stacked 32 man bracket we had ever seen. This time around, League has LCS at MLG Anaheim, and SC2 are the ones "taking the tournament off" by having a less than star studded tournament with the tiniest prize pool in two years. I agree with you on this and even more.In terms of SC2 MLG vs LOL MLG sc2 actually beats lol since in the lol proscene right now is basicly just lcs and riot is using MLG and Dreamhack just for the venue and nothing else.MLG at its core is an international tournament which accepts players form all over the world and sc2 mlg keeps close to that tradition hence the person who wins this mlg actually can claim to be the mlg champion. The riot tournament on the other hand is just lcs and has nothing to do with mlg but the venue. This is sort of the equivalnet of an american soccer team renting a baseball stadium for a match and the winning team claims to be the mlb champions.Wrong.The football teams that wins wins only that football match not the entire baseball major league championship. And i have hear a lot of people pretty upset at riot about not being able to organize other tournaments. For example at dreamhack this year the actual lol dreamhack was between a turkish team and some unknown european team.Although riot had their entire european casting team at that even they only sent rachel seltzer to do the entire job although she is not even a riot employee. And they programmed the entire dreamhack matches in the morning where about only 60k people watched them.I do believe blizzard is doing a better job than riot in this regard. At least sc2 still has reputable tournaments such as dreamhack and mlg that keep the international tradition of sc2 afloat.Riot is being too dictatorial for its own good.

IEM's space is pretty similar when it comes to their group stage as DH and I'm sure there could have been some grievance there with certain angles.

Hey idra been a long fan of you but I think you are exagerating with the lol number size.Lol got that many viewers approx 500k-to some say 1mil last season in season 2.This year on the other hand they have been struggling at around 200k on major tournament stream numbers.Which is still twice what sc2 has but over time I think it will get better. And also lols only major tournament is lcs.sc2 has a bit an advantage over that since we actually have international tournies other than the premier league and wcs controlled events. What I can not contest and you are right about is that in terms of casual stream numbers they do get a lot more than sc2.Actually a lot more.A lot of lol streamers get like 20k-30k viewers even if they are not top pros. But strictly restring outserlves to tournaments sc2 aint doing bad at all. Anyways it would have been fun if you were competing.GL in your new casting career.
