The common AP spenders for non-WoW fire builds (Meteor Shower and WoF/Heat Wave) have good AoE but they feel a bit lackluster in terms of damage - at least for someone used to arcane builds - especially since we can't spam them along with MM.

Ofc a Serpent Sparker is needed. Two Mammoth Hydras deal a lot of additional damage while we use MM, against a single targer they're amazing. I love Black Hole but I guess the best choice for solo play should be Meteor or WoF for clearing up trash mobs.

Looking for advice on my Wizard, which I'm hoping to finish up soon so I can move on to my WD. Are there any major upgrades which I am overlooking? Or do I just need better rolls + Wand of Woh/RoRG?

Basically, my goal is to be effective in T6 rifts, solo and group play. Right now, I can efficiently clear t4/t5 but t6 is slow and requires kiting.
Also, is there a thread somewhere to apply for the Team liquid guild? Or are applications closed? I see a couple in the guild finder that look like they might be TL guilds, but haven't been accepted.

second thought is get the RoRG. you are missing out on +15% dmg reduction and increased dmg vis-a-vis elites on the aughilds.
third thought is get the vyr, tal rasha or both sets. cains isnt good. vyr with new patch is great for fire archon.
your char looks pretty good though.
just search for liquid in clans and you can join through there. not aware of an application process.

You definitely need a better Magefist. Having Armor over CHD is a considerable DPS loss. Rare amu is well rolled but you could probably use a leg amu mainly for the 20% fire. Aughild Bracers are acceptable but you can try to get 20% fire and 6% CC later. Consider BT Pants/Boots. I haven't found resounding evidence over BT vs Cains for Missile builds but if you use Cain's, you need to have 2 Sockets and MM% for Pants. Unless you really need the melee reduction, SoE is pretty bad for Wiz. Hellcat is an easy poor man's belt to get. You eventually want Harrington's or Witching Hour (latter is obv much better for you because you can make use of the AS). Get Burning Axe over Chantodo's at some point for more Fire%. You definitely need Royal Ring badly. For Aughild and for your Boot/Pants slots.
Edit: Getting Vyr's and/or Tal's probably harder to do, not to mention would need a considerable change in item slots. (e.g. You'd need to lose either Magefist or Aughild's altogether). I think the only "finalized" items you own are Cindercoat, Andy's, and SoJ. You'd obv replace it with the same item but with better rolls if they showed up.

One question though, how much mitigation am I supposed to have for T6? I have +armor in a few weird places (i.e. gloves) as well as SoE equipped, because I feel like I die too quickly in high torments. If I replace those with DPS mods, won't my T6 viability go down? Does mitigation become less important with Wand of Woh or certain sets?
100% agree about RoRG, I've been farming it almost exclusively for the last two weeks... fingers crossed!

T6 shouldn't really be your measuring stick. Most classes that do T6 use the Unity x2 + immortal follower bug. I can do T6 in a group as Pet WD (I don't care enough to try it solo). I've seen very geared Crusaders do it solo (even few Barbs).
I cannot see most Wizards doing T6 solo without the Unity bug. WoW is almost a must. For group play it's a little bit different. If you're fire wiz, you need to maximize your Fire% for DPS and %elite reduction is a must (Aughild's).
Edit: for reference, this is my Wiz friend who I do T6 with. He's pretty much a Wiz specialist since D3 vanilla and all of RoS. He changes builds regularly but this is his fire MM build on profile atm. It might change later today.

Why is TF better than burning axe if he uses meteor as main dmg source? I haven't found mirrorball or firebird's eye so my dmg is still kinda terrible. With the source and the fire aughild's bracer I can easily get over 130% fire dmg, seems pretty good.
Your friend has very low toughness, how does he survive T6 without constantly dying?

He is MM/Conflag Fire Wiz, not Meteor. He just chose to have Meteor% in boots, cause why not? optimo has actually tried both MM and Meteor builds for his Fire Wiz, so there's obv going to be some overlap in his gear.
You can tell he's running MM main build right now because of the TF (near god rolls and %dmg). TF procs requires auto attacks. Doesn't make sense to run TF if you are Meteor main. Firebird's Eye seems counterintuitive cause we usually associate Mirrorball to MM Fire and Firebird's Eye to Meteor Fire but here I think optimo wanted more Fire% over the extra two missiles.
WoW Fire Wiz in our clan. He says he can solo T5 just fine (without Unity) but T6 is impossible without Unity.
Edit: I assume you're talking about optimo's toughness? Toughness is overrated l0l. Not to mention our regular group has me (Pet WD) and Jougo, who is running Ancients + Asheara's Barb. There's plenty of frontline for our Wiz and DH in the back. Edit2: There are some things that optimo is running that I have no idea about. e.g. Storm Armor, Unstable Anomaly.

I see. 3 missiles seem way better than 20% extra fire dmg, but I have neither so can't test. I have a TF that rolled max proc dmg possible on the secondary, will try that and see if it makes a difference. I also have a legacy WR with perfect AS and CHD, but I lose a ton of survivability using it.
I think cains might actually make more sense for a MM build, the mats are pretty easy to farm so I might try rolling some more of those. The extra 50% MF actually helps a bit atm since they doubled leg drop rates.

I used to think I have above average gear but it somehow seems impossible to break a certain ceiling to do higher torments efficiently and without risks.
Aside from the obvious upgrades (I really didn't find a single decent BT belt and yes that's the best 1-hander I have ever seen), it there anything radical I can do without deviating too much from skill build? (I love arcane torrent kek.) I seem to have exhausted my options but maybe there's just something I don't yet see. From this point it look like I have all I need, just need better stats on that (a better SoJ and a better MW definitely although quite hard to find).

ok, serious suggestion, have you tried the gold belt that gives armor equal to gold picked up?
I dont know how wizard pickup radius is, but with my witchdocotor i can run around with 100m thoughness at times.

I got one recently, but didn't notice any difference to speak of. I usually pick up gold after fights as well, so doesn't help much unless I run into another group straight after I guess. Also, the hard fights where it is needed are often a bit longer, and without gold drops, so I am probably not helped much by that effect in practice.

Yesterday I came home after reading the responses in this thread, and was like "anniversary buff ends in a day, time to get RoRG and a new 1H"
Today is my birthday. As soon as the clock hit 12:00AM last night, a mob dropped a nice Exarian. Next cache around 12:01AM had RoRG in it. I probably should've stayed online longer LOL

Winter Flurry, Triumv, Firebird's Eye, Tal's Glare.
You have a lot of options for sources really. You just need to get the right one depending on what your build is.
