I would much rather just recieve a replay-pack file rather than trying to enjoy something like the GSL and watch someone like Maru play and learn from him at the same time. It seems counter productive and sounds like it can be very confusing. (Its better to do study on a players movements from their POV independently rather than trying to watch and enjoy something like the GSL and learn at the same time) It's not even about learning tbh, it's about understanding how skilled these players are. The first person pov is the best way to show this.

Constant FPV would generate even more complaints

i doubt it will ever happen with the way sc2 works but i believe this is what you are looking for.

It would be nice to at most have these occasional switches to FPV in SC2 leagues, but that would necessitate extra production that some organizations may not afford or have the technical expertise to run reliably.

Funny enough this was the main reason people in 2012 thought CounterStrike could never be big again, even from Jason Lake and Alex Garfield who built their careers on 1.6.

Some tournaments used to have this as a feature (I remember MLG did?) and it was always a major highlight for me. The FPVOD of Jaedong vs Maru in the world finals a few years back is probably my favorite game of SC2 ever - I've never seen a cleaner game execution wise from any player...

But what about showing more fpv? Right now it's basically never a thing, it would be generous to call it "rare" tbh :D I think the discussion should center around that a little more, seems to be the most reasonable suggestion as well. We are talking about the main stream here btw, additional fpv streams would be obviously nice but the main stream is always the most important one.

And people thought MOBAs were too complicated with such a high number of heroes and abilities and unintuitive game concepts to understand. Just goes to show that still the biggest contributing factor to the popularity of an esport is the player number.

Sometimes it's a pleasure to listen to the casters like Tastosis when they talk about random stuff and joke around but some casters just give you headache when they try to understand whats going on in the game.

Giving casters feedback and supporting them is another way to fix this. I get very constructive feedback from my casts and it's really great to receive it. It let's a caster know they are being paid attention too and that you care that they improve.

Sure, feedback is awesome, but teaching a caster to understand the game at a decent level (gm-ish+) is way way too much work. Easier to just give mute option!
