That poster is being a bit of an ass, but is kind of right. I can only speak for EU, but there was a number of more popular RTS games back in the day, at least for multiplayer. I am from the UK like you, honestly how often did you encounter someone who played BW online compared to say Wc3, AoE2 or a C&C game? BW has had real lasting power though along side Aoe2. I suppose the Korean pro scene has had a lot to do with that. Seeing people so enthused and taking a game to ridiculous levels can keep people's interest in a game, even if playing is becoming tiresome.
Will you switch to broodwar remastered? - Page 3

I don't care about the remastered graphics,I'm waiting for the matchmaking to start playing it seriously though. Korean sc2 players won't switch entirely to BW until Blizzard continues to throw money in the scene.The day Blizz stops to sponsor GSL,KR won't have enough money to support it and the competitive game will die completely here. Instead I think sc2 players in foreignland won't never ever switch:BW is too hard and quite impossible to catch up with players who have been played the game for decades.

even the way this thread is phrased is intentionally provocative of the debate no one cares about

if they bring back LOTR, and the various RPGs, the Impossible Missions maps (where you team up and have levels where you have to micro together to win), evolves, devolves, then hell yeah i'm switching edit: sorry switching implies that i still play sc2, which i haven't in forever. not fun. but i do spectate. so i'll still spectate GSL until the scene dies

you dont need to be a super competitive bw player to enjoy the game. hop on and play ums's, observe games, play 2v2/3v3/4v4 hunters, play money maps like bgh/fastest, theres plenty of things to do.

War3 Helms Deep was way more interesting than BW's version.

Sounds like BW terran mech, turtling option is not a gameplay flaw, to me at least. Then what made you switch if you can't catch up? Just the dislike for SC2? Willing to catch up with the best is a terrible way to pick a game to play and equally terrible priority to have that will produce tons of frustration before anything else. And it's not like school, needing equal amount of years to catch up. If you like it, play it. Just to be clear I have zero hate towards any of the games

Completed Episode 1-3 campaigns and found that I'm so much better than the game than I was 15 years ago when I first attempted to play the campaigns haha. I'll probably get Remastered and play the campaign through (1-3 again as well) but that might be it for me. Maybe do some custom games with friends for some vs AI, but I highly doubt I'll play player vs player.

It's fun, until your dragoons do what you not want to... and I don't mean that in a meme way like it's usually said... I played and instead of attacking they literally stopped and not responded to orders for few seconds, felt like lag but it was not

For reasons. | ||
