For people who allegedly give the people what they want, they never seem to give me anything that I want. Jalen Rose the poster child for sports broadcasting's ex-layers problem. He is somehow boring (most ex-players are) and annoying (a bonus rarely seen!). I know he is trying to do some good things in Michigan, but cant ESPN make that some sort of charity writeoff and put someone on to actually drive the show (like EJ does for TNT)? Or if they think they need "NBA people" for cred, get really salty old timer with no bridges left to burn like George Karl or Kareem. Edit, like Jalen is supposed to have connections right? Why have I never heard from him about how Kyrie was out till 5 am the night before a game, or how Lebron did that before game 3 (a plausible explanation for his performance)? If he doesn't deliver that 3 out of every 5 halftime shows, hes providing no more value than if we put my brother on the show (possibly the worst basketball player among "good athletes" I've ever seen).

Also. all the players know its just a stupid "show" when talking to the national coverage guys whereas with the local day-to-day reporters i find the Raptors players are more real.

He's not a savant with vast game knowledge and a database that actual teams subscribe to like Collinsworth (he is one of many ex-player commentators still on the Rudy Gay bandwagon). He doesn't even appear to have great contacts like Aikman does. Wasn't Jalen a high volume iso player during his playing days? I feel like most of the ex-players in broadcasting now are from the NBA's dead ball era. Some of them are open minded, but the ones that aren't are really salty about all the analytics, ball movement, small ball and 3-pt shooting going on in the league. Listening to the opinions of iso players is very cringey. On May 23 2017 12:55 xDaunt wrote: ESPN's NBA crew blows. There's really not much more to say. At least the TNT guys are entertaining. ESPN showed where their priorities are by laying off a lot of analysts and regional specialists while keeping all their personalities. Even the serious journalists at the top got their responsibilities lessened.

Part of the reason Sage Steele was so bad was b/c they only gave her Rose and whoever else to work with...doomed from the start lol. I honestly don't know if it's his basketball opinions that annoy me, just as much as the way he acts on there and random shit he says. As for the last part about ESPN, is their priority the Woj signing? ...once they officially announce it and build his shit in, it makes more sense.

My stance is with Pop, GSW are so damn good because not only are they over loaded with talent, but that are the best defensive team. And they play great offense finding the open shooter. They are that rare case where they are loaded with talent and their team works plays above that talent! They are also crazy hungry after last year. AND they have at least 4 guys they can rotate on and off to guard (slow down never stop) LBJ. Green Iggy, Durant and klay. Then on the O end he can never take a break because they put out 5 guys that can score. I still stand behind my earlier comment that they should have just has GSW play Cavs for the championship and do a regular playoff for third. It would have been way more exciting. LOL

LOL I know, I feel you. I know they won't be favorites, but if the Cavs can iso Curry on defense and go after him with kyrie or LBJ, it is their best chance. Durant being able to ISO score if nothing else is working or they are cold, is a new thing this season though.

With all due respect to Bogut.

Harrison Barnes, in particular, lost confidence in his shooting as the playoffs went on. When you have a team built on making the right play and finding the open man, having one cold shooter that the defense can leave open is their biggest weakness. It is what happens to the Spurs in the playoffs from time to time. Cleveland just totally ignored him in the last 3 games and dared Golden State to have him shoot the ball. Durant being able to get to the basket if their outside shooting isn't falling is the new wrinkle they have this year. And if even a few shots are falling, the game is just so easy to him. It is pretty comical at times, when Steph or Klay are on, how KD can just waltz from the 3-pt line to the rim without looking like he's putting much effort into it. It looks like an easy, casual stroll to the rim. Of course, the Cavs are built like a better version of the Rockets. They are the team that can beat the Warriors in a shootout. Playoffs Lebron can mitigate their defensive issues. Their offense is better than the Rockets' in the playoffs.
