Having top koreans sometimes is nice, but majority of the time it would be better for tours to be only for foreigners, then you can at least picture yourself of winning in your head for a while :D So I would suggest than most tournaments would be just for foreigners also.

In regards, to region locking the tournaments, this would be a difficult decision to make. Thanks for the suggestions and replies! Keep them coming :D Also, having a larger, more professional tournament where there would be a LAN final, might be a possibility also if Blizzard permits. Haha If you're planning something larger, I would suggest region locking qualifiers and leveraging existing Korean events so that you don't have to do so much work on that side.

seems like sundays are unoccupied by any tournaments in the evening CEST times as for the region locking, u could make every 2nd tournament open

Having a weekly SC:R tournament to look forward to can do a lot for the foreign scene in terms of thriving. You could mix it with like having 3 region locked tournaments per month and a global open-for-all tournament every 4th or every 3rd week, to let the Koreans in on the fun. I've always had this idea in my head ever since I played sc2 professionally regarding donations and online tournaments. What if people watching the finals on stream could donate (cap it at like 5$) through paypal or whatever to the finals prize pool? I think it would be an interesting mechanic that could add more value and prestige to online tournament finals. Say all of a sudden the prize pool jumps up from 50$ to 150$ due to 100 people donating 5$ each. It certainly adds more pressure to the finalists, they also reap a bigger reward if they pull it off. This could also be an outlet for people to support their favorite player.

cKranez look at recently closed weekly tournament Filthy cup results, to see why many people would like nonkorean tourney. Skill difference between koreans and foreigners in BW is enormous.

Then try to find a time that suits both EU/US. Like 16-17:00 for EU which would me around 10-12 AM for US would probably be doable.

There should be a rule where a player that checks-in and doesn't attend the tournament anyway should be banned for the next 2-3 editions, just to avoid BYE rounds. I understand that sometimes emergency situations kicks in, so maybe allow player to forfeit once and in the next scenario he gets punished by not being let to play in next 1-2-3-4-5 editions of tournament? I somehow feel it should be adressed. If it comes to bracket/region locking it's more up to player than a community member / spectator like me, so I'm not taking any side.

! Single elimination bo3/bo5 , 3 tours for foreigners only and 1 monthly for everyone would be good. 17-00 cet Sunday is perfect imo.

Would limited Korean involvement be possible? Something that gives a platform for new Korean amateurs while giving foreigners experience playing regular human Koreans instead of Flash... Something like "If you've played in major Korean tournaments X, Y or Z in past year then you can't join"? The gulf would probably still be too big to do this straight up but maybe in addition to some other limiting factor like errr ... 739 above said "Braket/region locking" not sure on the details but... yea, a package that not only guaranteed lots of foreigners late in the tourney but also let mortal Koreans participate.

EDIT : It would still be awesome even if Koreans were allowed, but I think it would be better for the foreign scene if it was foreigners only. Rather than no koreans, make it amateur only i.e. none who are participating in ASL or are playing the in the qualifier, Ajae members allowed

imo its a little weird to region lock by locking out only 1 nationality?? so if its a global online tournament, allow koreans? I mean I see the point of a korea only tournament, or north america only, or europe only or whatever, but "all but one location" kinda weird no? lol idk it makes sense if you want non koreans to have a chance to win... so.......... IDK but its definitely great to have open to all tournaments as a viewer, I think it would be even more interesting to watch such a tourney especially to see games between good/best foreigners and good/best koreans, but at the same time sure it's nice to see games between best foreigners.. still would have such so. as a player, if I participate in a tourney I'd be happy to have a chance to play vs koreans, however I'm not someone who would have any chance to win such a tourney so I understand that players would want to see tourneys they have a chance to win even if they don't live in the best place to practice^^ cause for sure potential rewards motivate a great deal to keep getting better, even not prize money like just video I guess^^ I think single elimination BO3 sounds great
