And we saw a quick warm-up match between 3 of the GoDs before the tournament started. There was no all-out battle royale between all the GoDs.

Oh man, there is a lot to unpack in this. + Show Spoiler +Pretty much confirms what I had said earlier about Sidra. Shows that Zeno already wanted to do some exploding. Tells us that Quitela/U4 was the one that had an individual with comparable strength to the GoD. Everyone seems to have beef with Beerus, but Beerus is surprisingly tanky. Belmod is a shithead which was quite apparent by the fact that the Pride Troopers are the same.

Someone please PM me source.

+ Show Spoiler +People keep saying this but the anime and manga are too different at this point to make this connection from one to the other.

+ Show Spoiler +In anime: Whis said that a GoD stronger than Beerus had a creature in their universe they couldn't pin down. Beerus said "cmon it was just an arm wrestling match."
In manga: Beerus lost to Quitela in an arm wrestling match.

Super duper future episode spoilers ahead: + Show Spoiler +https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ptu6Cv-6iMU
Also it seems that after before the special we have a down week before getting the next episodes. Next week is off I suppose?
|
If it makes animation better and more time to construct good episodes the odd down week is fine with me. The less screen time is spent on recaps and zen oh failing to count or using that tablet the better.

Yeah next week no episode. If you ever want to see this stuff reddit.com/r/dbz has all these spoilers and stuff on Thursday night. It's how I get all the future episode info and read the manga, as well as know when there is an off week.

Not a bad episode. Frieza slapping the yardat around was wonderful.
Can't help but lol @ spirit bomb right off the bat

The dialogue leading into the moment with Frieza and Frost was a bit flat. Just a bunch of people on the sidelines going "is he going to do this awful thing and betray U7? He is, isn't he?"
Otherwise, though, I really have been enjoying Frieza's interactions since they brought him back. It's like working with DBZ's best villain is giving them some inspiration again. Listening to the sidekicks' throwaway dialogue, that makes it obvious they're going to play it against type, doesn't detract from his cunning.

Great episode. Zen-chan is a bad ass at the end and I take back 25% of the bad things I've said about him. Gohan got cheated but we got more Freeza. I'll take that.

The gimmick for this episode was of course already pretty badly spoiled because + Show Spoiler +there is no way a real Freeza betrayal would be forgotten in time for the next episode, and I saw the episode title previews for the next few. Also Freeza is a dirty kill stealer as this tourney has shown.
It was all really awesome tho. Predictable but still cool.

Why doesnt ribrianne realise that goku hasnt transformed into his blue form, all the gods saw that form in his match with Toppo, wouldnt they warn their warriors with all the info they could out of that show match? She basically is barely even with goku in base form, so shes absolutely screwed.
Hyped to finally see goku vs jiren, but isnt that spirit bomb going to be super weak? Theres barely any lifeforms there.
Frieza vs Frost was great but i felt like they didnt need to hold our hand through the dialogue...also lol frost getting erased just like that, i was kinda hoping for more interactions between the two but i guess they didnt like him being in the story.

I'll take that. Yeah, the only thing that worked out for Gohan was that he was getting beat up on purpose. My favorite part of the episode was actually the way Frieza's attacks seemed tame, and so obviously something was off, because we know he's on par with Goku and would kick the shit out of Gohan if he were serious. There was that subtle cue where Gohan picked up on it too.
Though sometimes the battles are just badly written and it just looks that way, so it was hard to say without being spoiled. I got rewarded for believing this time tho.

I would assume that Gohan would have come up with something seeing as his dad can use it and he's seen it so many times. To be taken advantage of so blatantly was just sad. He got cheated because I feel that Gohan could have defeated Frost on his own. That should have been Gohan's kill. But whatever. I wish the Yardrat would have been able to teach Gohan his moves. Would be cool to see.

Would be cool to see. All good points, he basically sucked it up. I would've thought he could handle the Yardrati too, since Gohan beat that dude from whatever fucking universe it was, who was basically invisible, and Gohan had to feel out his attacks, take some hits, but also get his own in. It was basically the same. He should've had this easy. Frost too.
Also weird that the Yardrat dude was from universe 2, or did I miss something? Shouldn't he have been from 6 if anything? You don't see Saiyans or Namekians in other random universes. Weird.
