Hey everyone at TeamLiquid,
NEW: VERSION 2.1.0 IS OUT! UPGRADE NOW! PM me for more more promo codes - I have 10 to give out! Go to the page 5 for discussion of what is in 2.1.0. Please leave reviews on iTunes and let me know what you think!
NEW FEATURES: - VOD - Watch VOD in the Hub! Watch, Comment, Rate, and add your own SC2 replays! - Upgrades - Upgrades can now be added into the build orders!
I know I am new here, but I want some feedback for the latest iPhone App I have created called Assistant for Starcraft 2. It manages your build orders and replays them to you while you are playing the game. For example, you could have a set of PvP or TvP strategies stored in the app, then as you are starting a game, you hit play and it will call out the build order for you. I would like some feedback for the app to help me know what to put into future versions. I am nowhere near a pro at SC2, so the strategies are probably lacking compared to most of your skill levels.
The app does cost $1.99, but I really want feedback so if there are any pros, TeamLiquid moderators or members that want to use it just send me an E-Mail at taylor@thsoftware.net. I would love to give you a Promo Code and get some feedback. (Also, I read the post on advertising and feel this is really useful to the community, but delete the post if you feel it is inappropriate. I would like to talk to someone from TeamLiquid about what I could do to work with you on getting some feedback and possibly a review.)
There are some screenshots at the bottom of the post.
Thanks, Taylor

Nice. I'll definitely check is this out.

checking out right now! looks very sweet

Looks great for 1 base play, ill pick this up later this week.
Looking a bit more at the screenshot it seems really cool.

Lol, I don't know about you guys, but what is it about Apple Apps that draw such positive reception? I mean the reaction of this compared to this is quite a difference.
Not trying to troll or anything, I mean more power to you (although I think there's a rule against self promotion generally towards new members)

wouldn't that be much more useful as a normal pc-program on a second screen? But i guess you just want to get some money frome people who don't realize that this is just a simple timer app with sc2 graphics.

This is a lot more than just a timer. (My Halo 3 Timer app was a lot closer to a simple timer with specific intervals for weapon drops and resets)
v2.0.0 should be out in about a week that adds some pretty cool features. (Strategy sharing, chatting, authors, notes for items ex. "chrono boost this probe", "scout with this scv" etc...)
Do you have an iPhone? I'd be glad to give you a promo code so you can see how you like it.

hey tehelsper could you send me a promo code? id like to try it
|
Can we get a version of this that is Palm Pre compatible?
|
hmm cept i thought the new YABOT has the build orders implanted into it?
|
I think this is a good idea but the way the build order works (judging by your pictures) is that it says what time to make X unit, instead of going to time, you should go by supply?

Because everyone who plays SC2 runs two monitors. I'm also fairly certain that most "simple timer apps" don't store SC2 build orders but hey, what do I know.
I think it's an interesting concept. I don't have an iPhone anymore or I'd happily grab it to test.

Except the YABOT maps aren't part of the ladder map pool which is presumably where you'd make use of this.

port it to android phones o/
|
I would check this out if I were given the opportunity.
|
ahaha does it tell you to lift off your cc to the left corner of the map in any of the build orders?

Yes, the idea is that all of your build orders follow a logical supply. Then it uses a timer to replay your strategies to you.
--edit-- I would like to do an Android port (my phone is actually the 1st gen Droid), but I am focusing on the next version as well as a version for the iPad first.

Is there an audio message or do you expect people to look at the iphone/ipad/ipod instead of their screen?
This seems like a bad crutch to get hooked on. If you can't handle memorizing your initial build order then you're going to have far bigger problems later in the game. There's also a good chance that you'll screw up the timing by waiting for the app to tell you to build it instead of looking at your minerals.
ps. 2 drones at 17sec, really?

You should bring it to android.
