For vacation, Japan sounds like the best. Food, Akihabara, the music scene, and e-sports are the major attraction for me.

I would, though, be happy to live abroad for a couple years or so. My wife will probably get her post-doctoral position overseas, likely in Geneva or Melbourne. I'm down for either locale, personally. The best case scenario for long-term settlement, however, is Tennessee. Clarksville, TN to be exact. Not a finer city on the planet, ladies and gentlemen!

If I have the chance I'd just travel a lot though, and not like one week vacations to resorts, I mean like actually seeing the country and it's nature.

And I don't really know enough about other countries to make the decision to move over... Hell, I don't really know enough about Germany to begin with x_x Only stuff that comes to mind is: Korea, they have starcraft there! And electronic toilets! Ireland, I'm half irish and I like their beer! Japan, CRAAAAAAZY stuff happens there, also Nintendo! and that's about it :

I would choose somewhere in Scandinavia if it wasn't for the language barrier, though I could probably pick up german I already speak a little. Canada probs 2nd most reasonable english speaking country. I don't want to live in a country that may teach creationism to my future kids or has no universal healthcare or a horrible national reputation so America is out. I don't want to live in a country that is ruled by a monarch so Britain is out. Uh, she's the Queen of Australia and Canada too, and is ruler of Britain in name only.
