Because of that I don't understand what they want to achieve with this ... besides getting your money by doing "nothing"...

I know many will probably disagree with me. But this just reminds me why I don't enjoy the majority of "modern" console games.

I just feel like this gameplay is severely outdated and doesn't stand up to the test of time. By this I mean I've played through a ton of NES and SNES games, which though clearly outdated, still stand the test of time as classics. FF7 combat is incredibly boring and I can't play a game for story alone. The NES and SNES games had to stand by their gameplay alone to make up for the 8/16 bit graphics and sound. Once PSX came out, games started to move away from that into more pretty pictures than gameplay. I know many will probably disagree with me. But this just reminds me why I don't enjoy the majority of "modern" console games. This is quite surprising since FFVII has a far better combat system than the NES/SNES FFs...

the improved graphics can really be a huge appeal to gamers now.. most of them will just be disgusted by the graphics and ignore it..

EDIT: Actually got to the final boss on the PC version of FFVIII years ago (yeah, never beat it, couldn't be bothered to waste hours drawing more stupid magic for hours on end, i just youtubed the ending, lolz, seriously worst combat system ever) and never encountered any game breaking bugs that plagued ff7.

FF5's job system is the best for me but the story wasn't great. IMO, FF6 was the best game in the series, with FF4 coming in second. FF7 overdid cutscenes and long attack animations, and I'm not a fan of either in my RPGs.

With all the hype we oldfags put on it, they must expect it to play like a unicorn puking rainbows through their noses up into their brains. If they rerelease, i buy. I originally played it on the PC. First the demo, then with a friend - sadly, he owned the copy Own it on the PS, but the disks i bought off ebay came pretty scratchy. had a hard time getting the 1st disk to even start lol. I know the game by heart, but still find the story engaging. The fuck, i still have tears welling up in my eyes when i hear Aeris theme. And i know of nothing else that makes me cry --;;;
