As someone mentioned - Tiny Tina is the best video game character I can remember... and thats saying a lot in a game full of witty/crazy/hilarious quotable characters.

I cleared out a particular area and then, later in another location, took a quest that required me to kill 20 enemies in that area to activate a bonus. Not a huge deal, but now it means I'll have to be more careful about playing it in a linear manner.

Me and my 2 friends have been playing throughout the weekend and are now lvl 32. I really like many of the new small things that borderlands 2 got, especially the slot machines :D Me and my friends have burned all of our cash on them, but so far we haven't got three borderland signs.. Wonder what you get when that happens.. Oh and we are SUPER excited about the lvl 50 mission and the terranous insect boss that supposedly give you really good drops! So now that everyone has had a chance playing the game for a while, what are your thoughts about the game?

Tiny Tina's writing/voice acting is the most amazing thing in video games. I was extremely saddened that she didn't actually sit down to enjoy the tea party I worked hard to setup for her though. Fluffybutt looked very presentable...

So now that everyone has had a chance playing the game for a while, what are your thoughts about the game? Just finished it co-op playthrough 1, skipped the last few zones worth of sidequests (ended at level 32) Since most people interested will have tried Borderlands 1, here's my pros/cons compared to the original:
+The tie-ins to the original are perfectly done and make the laughable plot of the first game into a pretty decent prequel. +Enemy variation is a lot better. Could've done with a few less bandits and a few more spreading throughout (you see basically 0 bullymongs in the 2nd half of the game for example). +Customization is a lot better +The game is quite a bit longer than the original +Grenades and other slots like shields became a lot more interesting +Bosses are actually really, really well done.
-The UI is clunkier than before -Slag/Explosive/Shock felt rather underwhelming, way too situational imo. Shields (shocking's use) aren't that big on any mob I've faced in playthrough 1, and 'blocking shields' (explosive's only use) like the ones Badass Nomads have are really rare. Slag is only useful if you have 1 person use onein coop because the weapon switching is too much of a hassle, and the extra damage isn't worth it solo. Fire/Corrosive are good vs biological/armored mobs and the entire game was basically 1 of those 2 types. -I missed a 'knoxx armory' styled way to spam run chests (which is very rewarding). It was also rather unclear what chests actually gave the best loot. -The main antagonist is introduced way too comedically. Really cheesy taunts from a character you're not invested in defeating are kind of... meh. It gets a lot more serious from the middle on which only makes the start stand out more -Rocket Launchers still feel underwhelming. The rest is the same as the original Borderlands - tons of references, awesome humor, very customizable way to play with weapons. It does have a few bugs but no more than can be expected from any game at launch really. edit: I also agree with Tiny Tina being the most awesome character in the game. Hope she gets more screen time in the DLCs at least.

Don't agree with Rocket launchers being bad, i always have one for the shield guys and they do crapton of burst damage for bosses. Although my Turret kinda owns everything alone lol. I love it. Also, my biggest minus are the skins. They drop too often and i also have those "yay a good item dropped" moments where i see a crappy skin T_T...

Could have used something more interesting like dashes, 2 second clocks to dodge shoots. Thermal vision. Dunno, something I look forward to getting, not just "let's see if I even notice 10% in reload time."

These are your gamechanger and gamebreaker skills that happen mid tier and at the end of a tree and they definitely change the way you play, in fact one of the Assassin's mid tier gamechangers is a melee dash that does a huge amount of extra damage when he is in deception. Some other skills can do this too, such as the Assassin's clones exploding from one of his skills or the Siren suddenly gaining elemental effects to all of her attacks.

Either way, i sort of can't wait to test Torchlight 2, because the skill trees there look awesome. But i grabbed Borderlands 2 first so i'll play that first.

So now that everyone has had a chance playing the game for a while, what are your thoughts about the game? I'm pleasantly surprised with how much more variety there is, and not just with environment and enemies(big flaws with the first one). The missions are more varied in type, rewards, and branching paths. The skills are a lot more varied, and there are skills that alter your abilities like melee throwing slag ball or execute melee dash, or phaselock changing from disable to brainwash. Much more item variety too, especially with grenades and shields, though quest items have less funny descriptions, but those were way too easy to miss in the first game anyway. There's even more variety with how the guns look. There's so much different than the first one that everything feels fresh and new, as if I never truly played borderlands before and this is how it was always meant to be, even though I played the first one a ton. The game feels at least three times bigger and richer and fuller than the first one. I like that the characters from the first game play a major role in the story. There actually is a story(I even like how the opening mocked how bad and disappointing the story in the first one was), with a really likeable/despicable antagonist, and angel actually having a place in the story, giving a lot of motivation to progress. The only npc that actually annoys me isn't Claptrap, but Dr. Zed and his constant mentioning of his lack of a medical degree. Oh, and the enemies actually say some pretty funny things now too.

Basically go to Tundra Express and run to the zone where the blown up train is (stay right and follow the river), run through until you get to the sharp drop off with the chest at the bottom and the the fast travel station right before Wilhelm. This is a checkpoint. You can kill Wilhelm (he drops at least a blue 90% of the time), then hit the chest (which you spawn 3 feet from), save and quit, then reload and repeat. You want to kill Wilhelm first so he doesn't run off and spawn a bunch of robots, the trick is to run out of the narrow canyon you start in and put your back to the right wall. This is so he can get to you, if he cant he will move to phase 2 and run off to spawn more robots. Then you just stand still against the wall (so his melee cant push you away) and nade (get a corrosive DOT grenade) headshot him to death. This makes his loot shoot into the little canyon you came out of and makes it so you dont have to chase him around or search the whole plateau for where his drops were launched . Then loot the chest near your spawn and regame. With decent gear after a few runs you can kill Wilhelm in about 8 seconds in his first phase, so the whole run takes about 15 seconds. It's absurdly lucrative. If you cant kill Wilhelm fast enough you can just loot the chest 1 inch from spawn and do 3 seconds runs until you have good enough gear to own him.

He doesnt take you seriously at the beginning. + Show Spoiler + But as the game progresses, he takes you more seriously. And he gets more pissed and outraged. Then the final culmination with his enraged speech about him being the hero was just awesome. Also, this has to be the most ridiculous gun that I have found yet. I usually havent liked the SMG's, but this one is insane
