Yeah, I didn't understand iG team comp either game. Very disappointing series, especially having to wait for so long since the regular season ended.

Anyone has a working stream?

Are the Chinese teams just experimenting with these "new" champions after their lackluster performance at All Stars Championships, at the LPL play-offs of all places?

China REALLY needs to give an English site or company the rights to do their shit. The OGN finals peaked at 60,000+ last night on English streams. Barely anywhere outside of China cares or is watching the semis because of how tight lock they keep the LPL rights.

what incentive do they have to open it up to the west? they get all the viewers they could want in china and opening it up is just a lot of hassle

extra foreign cash
they're the only region of the five to not have an english cast of some sort.

where is the foreign cash coming from though? viewers don't translate into profits unless there's a mechanism bridging the two...

hm, guess you're right. tencent could set up their own sub system like OGN does, but that would mean hiring their own english casters, partnering with twitch, etc.

yeah that's the only realistic source of revenue i can see, and i think the demand simply isn't there for it to justify all the stuff they'd have to set up :<

One small thing I do appreciate that resulted from the heavy segregation of each of the regions were the visible differences in the strategic approaches, like the heavy usage of Hecarim jungle, and the way players like Troll micromanaged these champions in order to maximize their knock-back effects were quire astounding. Now every time I see Chinese teams it's pretty much the same as before (agonizingly long games), but without all these specialties that were unique to China, and instead seeing really sloppy plays on champions that were oviously not these players' forte. It's like watching Cpt Jack trying to play Ezreal.
As for the viewing experience, the hazy streaming quality, lack of commentary in a language I can understand, the annoying female caster's voice, and the long drawn out games really does make things somewhat of an ordeal. However, I don't think this isolation from the rest of the world is necessarily a bad thing for the Chinese scene. They already have a highly competitive scene that has enough contacts with the Korean scene (even amateur Korean teams schedule practice sessions against Chinese teams like Invictus Gaming from what I've heard), and the seclusion from the rest of the world means that breaking down the Chinese metagame takes a lot more effort than researching into Korean professional teams for example.
It just sucks as a casual viewer, because I really would like to know about the Chinese scene, but the lack of discussion really hurts my understanding of all these amazing players I rarely get to see. Team Liquid is a great source to get information on the various players around the world, but more recently I tend to just get information from Korean sites because there's a noticable shortage of people who speaks English that really seems to be interested in discussing the Chinese scene in general. Like what the hell happened to Zz1tai? He was such an amazing player, now he looks to be just dicking around half-assed. Where's all the discussion of players on Positive Energy? The only player I had a strong opinion on was LightAluka, who I thought sucked ass. Who makes the team tick? Is it Jing? There's hardly any discussion on these players at all in English speaking forums.

I think even if they had the Chinese stream on Twitch, they would get more English viewers. Having all their streams be on crazy Chinese sites with bad quality is just a turn off for anyone wanting to get into the China scene. Even the casual e-sport fans have a hard time caring about OGN with English casting and tons of discussion, so there is no way the average LCS viewer would ever check out China. All the casual fan really knows is Misaya is God at Twisted Fate and PPD is the big guy.

Did it end? All I see is this CS knockoff.

To be honest, that's about the extent of my knowledge on the Chinese scene as well. It's a painstakingly meaningless process trying to find even a single sentence of information in English about player that is not a household name like WeiXiao or Misaya. Seriously, when's the last time someone even did a piece on anything related to the Chinese League of Legends scene in general? I would simply love to see anything written about players like Cool, Zz1tai, Uzi, Gogoing, or even famous ones like Misaya. People need to bounce ideas off each other, otherwise we're forever stuck muttering useless things like "yeah... I've heard that guy was pretty good" or "nah... I saw him and he wasn't that great". I think if there was an English coverage, and enough discussion on the Chinese scene in general, it wouldn't be far fetched to see pieces like below being churned out on a regular basis.

Oh well, there's way too much League of Legends games to keep up with anyways. As for me personally, I've learned basically half of my knowledge and perception on the Chinese scene off this one random Korean guy who casted the Chinese games several weeks ago, and since he stopped I feel really lost watching these games. Content always helps people like me understand things better, and as of now, like you said, there's bugger all to help.

Lovelin switches to Jungle wtf??? Wasn't he a beast support? Especially since OMG was doing very well with their previous line weren't they?
Also can someone shed light on what's the patch info?
Caomei facechecks for FB lol ...

I would also like to know the details behind the switch between LoveLin and bigpalemo, considering the fact that LoveLin didn't impress me that much with his jungling abilities. Why destroy one of the greatest bottom lane partnership going for someone who is obviously not at their greatest in the jungling position? It's something Counter Logic Gaming would do, not a team currently rated as perhaps the best team in China.

Yeah but they still don't have that "dominance" factor as before. Definitely stepped it up though.
