I just went to their Site and the first thing I saw there is a big message at the top of the screen.
"Dark Souls 2 CD-KEY STEAM PREORDER GLOBAL
In most cases we deliver preorder codes 1 day before release, but it may happen that you will receive your code on 25.04.2014 at the latest."

I always got my keys on time at G2A. I've bought 4 or 5 games there so far.

weee Same for me and it sucks.
It just sits there in my library teasing me, now it's even on my HDD and I can't play it.

Regarding the proxy activation method that is used to play a few hours early: Is it possible in DS2 to start with a character in offline mode then later enable the online features with the same character?

Hah lets start a club cause I feel exactly the same way!

For the people who already played the game, is my impression from watching walkthroughs correct that this game is a lot less cheap than its predecessor? As in no Anor Londo Snipers, dragons that suddenly oneshot you on bridges and frame rate issues adding a difficulty layer of itself in certain areas.
Don't get me wrong, I love Dark Souls but some parts of it are just infuriating.

From playing through it on PS3. In spoiler talks about some general battle mechanics + Show Spoiler +The battles if played properly are more difficult. The encounters are more thought out. If you choose to you can exploit most of the battles very easily to the point you don't have to do anything but fire a bow. Its nice that if you get frustrated on a specific encounter you can exploit around it but also a pain because in some areas the leash range is stupidly low.

There's nothing quite as cheap feeling as the Anor Londo Bowmen, but there is a really really awful optional Dragon boss. There is also nothing comparable to the Blighttown slowdown, or nothing that I remember.

There are still some bullshit parts in DS2, like + Show Spoiler +Shrine of Amana casters on the way to Rhoy's bonfire and + Show Spoiler +the Ruin Sentinels+stone guardians in Drangleic Castle and + Show Spoiler +the jumping puzzles in The Gutter and + Show Spoiler +the snipers before Smelter Demon in Iron Keep and + Show Spoiler +the ogres on the way to Guardian Dragon and + Show Spoiler +the knights on the way to Ancient Dragon and + Show Spoiler +the exploding guys who ambush you in Lost Bastille near Straid and leading up to Lost Sinner in the waist-high water and + Show Spoiler +the ringing bell leading up to the bosses in Undead Crypt . There are probably a lot more that I'm forgetting.
The PS3 also had some framerate issues (I didn't play DS1 on PS3 so I can't compare the infamous Blighttown which was always tolerable on PC), I just can't remember where exactly. It wasn't game-destroying, but it was noticeable.

It wasn't game-destroying, but it was noticeable. To me those all range from annoying & inconvenient to frustrating, but none are on the level of getting knocked off the ledge by the one sniper because you blocked and the knock back hit you off, or because you rolled and the collision with the archer pushed you off to the abyss instead of letting you stay on it. Now that was some bullshit. Granted, that may be something of an absurd standard to hold 'bullshit' against.

The game will only look better with time... It looks OK already and modders will soon do their shit.
Just take a look at unmodded vs modded Skyrim. It's freaking ridiculous. PC master race bro!
I can't wait I haven't been this excited for a release for a long ass time
